5. Battery Installation

The Oh'Care Lite meter uses a single CR2032 battery. To install or replace the battery:

1. Locate the battery cover on the back of the meter.
2. Open the battery cover.
3. Insert the CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
4. Close the battery cover securely.

6. Setting Up the Meter

Follow these steps to configure your Oh'Care Lite meter:

1. Enter Setting Mode: Press and hold the Power button for over 3 seconds.
2. Icon Mode: Use the Up/Down buttons to select 'On' or 'Off' for icon mode. Press the Power button to confirm.
3. ID Mode: Use the Up/Down buttons to select 'On' or 'Off' for ID mode (for multiple users). Press the Power button to confirm.
4. Set Date and Time: Adjust the Year, Day, Month, and Time using the Up/Down buttons. Press the Power button after each adjustment to confirm and move to the next setting.
5. Measuring Unit: Select your preferred measuring unit (mg/dL or mmol/L) using the Up/Down buttons. Press the Power button to confirm.

7. Operating Instructions: How to Check Your Glucose Level

Follow these steps to perform a blood glucose test:

1. Prepare Finger: Wipe your chosen fingertip with a clean alcohol pad and allow it to air dry.
2. Prepare Lancing Device:
   • Unscrew the cap of the lancing device.
   • Insert a new, sterile lancet into the device.
   • Carefully twist off the round protective cover from the lancet.
   • Replace the lancing device cap.
   • Adjust the depth setting on the cap (1 for weakest, 5 for strongest) according to your skin type.
   • Pull the handle on the colored end of the device to load the spring.
3. Prick Finger: Place the lancing device firmly against your fingertip and press the release button on the side of the device. Gently turn your palm upward to encourage a blood droplet.
4. Insert Test Strip: Insert a new test strip into the Test Strip Port of the meter. The meter will turn on automatically and display a code number.
5. Confirm Code: Double-check that the displayed code number on the meter matches the code printed on the test strip bottle label.
6. Apply Blood Sample: Once the blood drop symbol appears on the meter, touch the tip of the test strip to the blood droplet. The blood will be drawn into the strip.
7. Read Result: The meter will count down, and your blood glucose result will be displayed in 5 seconds.
8. Discard Strip: After checking the result, use the test strip ejector on the back of the meter to safely discard the used strip.

8. Reviewing Your Results

Your Oh'Care Lite meter stores your test results for easy review:

• Individual Results: To review past individual results, press the Up or Down buttons.
• Average Results: To check average results (e.g., 7-day, 14-day averages), press the Power button while reviewing individual results. The display will show the average test result, test unit, test result amount, and average test result days.
• Delete Results: To delete a specific result, navigate to it and press the Up and Down buttons simultaneously.

9. Maintenance

Cleaning the Meter

• Wipe the exterior of the meter with a soft, damp cloth.
• Do not immerse the meter in water or any other liquid.
• Do not use harsh cleaning agents or solvents.

Storage

• Store the meter and test strips in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Keep test strips in their original vial with the cap tightly closed to prevent exposure to air and moisture.
• Store the lancing device and lancets in a clean, safe place.

• Error Codes: If an error code appears on the display, refer to the full instruction manual for specific meanings and solutions.
• Inaccurate Readings: Ensure proper testing technique, check the expiration date of test strips, and confirm the test strip code matches the vial. Perform a control solution test to verify meter accuracy.
