3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Gently open the back cover of the motion sensor.
  2. Insert the two 1.5V AA LR6 AM3 batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the back cover securely.

3.2 Mounting the Sensor

The sensor can be mounted on a wall or in a corner. Choose a location that provides optimal coverage of the area you wish to monitor, avoiding direct sunlight or heat sources that could cause false alarms.

  1. Attach the mounting bracket to the desired location using the provided screws. Ensure it is firmly secured.
  2. Slide the motion sensor onto the mounting bracket. The bracket allows for adjustment of the sensor's angle.
  3. Adjust the sensor's angle to cover the detection area effectively. For pet immunity, ensure the sensor is mounted at a height where small pets (under 25 kg) are below the detection zone's lower beam.

3.3 Pairing with Wolf Guard Alarm System

The HW-06B sensor is designed for wireless integration with compatible Wolf Guard alarm systems (e.g., W4Q, WT4F, WT4R). Refer to your specific alarm system's manual for detailed pairing instructions. Generally, the process involves:

  1. Put your Wolf Guard alarm panel into pairing mode (often labeled 'Add Device' or 'Enroll').
  2. Trigger the motion sensor by waving your hand in front of it or by walking through its detection zone.
  3. The alarm panel should recognize the sensor and display a unique code or confirmation.
  4. Confirm the pairing on the alarm panel.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Motion Detection

Once installed and paired, the sensor continuously monitors its detection area. When it detects motion from a human or an object exceeding the pet immunity threshold (25 kg), it sends a signal to the connected Wolf Guard alarm system.

4.2 Pet Immunity Function

The HW-06B sensor features pet immunity, meaning it is designed to differentiate between human movement and the movement of small pets. For optimal pet immunity, ensure pets weighing less than 25 kg are positioned below the sensor's main detection zone. Proper mounting height and angle are crucial for this feature to work effectively.

4.3 Alarm Notification

Upon detection of unauthorized motion, the alarm system will trigger its siren and send notifications (e.g., SMS, app alerts) to your registered contacts, depending on your alarm system's configuration.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Replacement

The sensor's batteries have an average lifespan of 2 years. When the batteries are low, your alarm system may indicate a low battery warning for the sensor. To replace the batteries:

  1. Open the back cover of the sensor.
  2. Remove the old batteries.
  3. Insert two new 1.5V AA LR6 AM3 batteries, observing correct polarity.
  4. Close the back cover.

Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.

5.2 Cleaning

To ensure optimal performance, periodically clean the sensor's lens with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the sensor.

6. Troubleshooting
