Determining Door Hand Orientation

- Install Latch (B): Insert the latch mechanism into the edge bore of the door. Rotate the latch tongue to change handing if necessary (refer to panel C). Secure the latch with screws.
- Latch Tongue Note (C): To reverse the latch tongue, remove the screw, rotate the tongue, and re-insert the screw. Ensure the curved side of the latch faces the door stop.
- Use Drilling Template (D): Use the provided universal drilling template to mark the mounting holes for the tall plate. For privacy function, align the template with the top of the bore hole as shown, then flip the template to mark the bottom drilling hole. Drill a 1/4" hole through the door for the privacy pin.
- Mount Exterior Tall Plate (E): First, install the two screw extenders into the exterior tall plate. Then, mount the exterior tall plate onto the door. Check that turning the knob/lever retracts the latch.
- Mount Interior Tall Plate (F): Mount the interior tall plate with the included 1-1/2" machine screws. Ensure the privacy spindle is correctly aligned. Check that turning the knob/lever retracts the latch.
- Attach Strike Plate (G): Attach the strike plate to the door jamb using 3/4" long wood screws. Ensure the latch engages smoothly with the strike plate.
Operating the Lever

- To Lock: From the inside, locate the small privacy pin on the interior side of the lever plate. Push or turn this pin to engage the lock.
- To Unlock: From the inside, turn the lever handle to disengage the lock. From the outside, use the emergency release tool (a small pin or paperclip) to insert into the small hole on the exterior side of the lever plate and push to unlock.
