Setup

Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the DieHard 71688 unit. Connect the unit to a standard AC wall outlet using an extension cord (not included) and the integrated charging port on the back. The digital display will indicate the battery charge level. It is recommended to keep the unit continuously charged when not in use to maintain optimal battery health and ensure it's ready for emergencies.

Operating Instructions

Jump Starting a Vehicle

  1. Ensure the DieHard unit is fully charged.
  2. Turn off the vehicle's ignition and all accessories.
  3. Connect the red positive (+) clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the vehicle's battery.
  4. Connect the black negative (-) clamp to a non-painted metal part of the vehicle's engine block or chassis, away from the battery. Avoid connecting directly to the negative battery terminal.
  5. Turn the "Jump Start" switch on the DieHard unit to the "ON" position.
  6. Attempt to start the vehicle. If it doesn't start immediately, wait a few minutes and try again.
  7. Once the vehicle starts, turn the "Jump Start" switch to "OFF".
  8. Disconnect the black negative (-) clamp first, then the red positive (+) clamp.
  9. Store the clamps securely in their designated holders on the unit.

Using the Air Compressor

  1. Locate the air compressor hose and appropriate nozzle from the accessory bag.
  2. Attach the nozzle to the item you wish to inflate (e.g., tire valve, sports ball).
  3. Connect the air compressor hose to the unit.
  4. Use the digital controls to set the desired PSI. The unit features an automatic shut-off once the target pressure is reached.
  5. Turn on the compressor. Monitor the digital display for real-time pressure readings.
  6. Once inflation is complete, turn off the compressor and disconnect the hose and nozzle.
