2. Safety Information

3. Setup and Initial Charging
Before using your DieHard 71687 unit for the first time, it is essential to fully charge its internal battery. This ensures optimal performance and extends battery life.
Initial Charging Procedure
- Ensure the unit's main power switch (if present) is in the "OFF" position.
- Locate the AC charging port on the unit.
- Plug the AC charging cable into the unit's charging port, then plug the other end into a standard 120V AC wall outlet.
- The "CHARGE" indicator light on the control panel will illuminate, indicating that the unit is charging. Refer to the internal battery status indicators for charge level.
- Allow the unit to charge until the "100% - 70%" indicator light is solid green, indicating a full charge. This may take several hours.
- Once fully charged, disconnect the AC charging cable from the wall outlet and then from the unit.

It is recommended to fully charge the unit after each use and at least every three months to maintain battery health, even if not used.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Jump Starting a Vehicle
Use this feature to jump-start 12V lead-acid batteries in cars, trucks, SUVs, and other vehicles.
- Ensure the DieHard unit is fully charged.
- Turn off the ignition of the vehicle to be jump-started and ensure all accessories (lights, radio, etc.) are off.
- Place the DieHard unit on a flat, stable surface near the vehicle's battery, ensuring it is not directly above the battery.
- Connect the RED positive (+) clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the vehicle's battery.
- Connect the BLACK negative (-) clamp to a non-moving metal part of the vehicle's chassis, away from the battery and fuel lines. Do not connect it directly to the negative battery terminal.
- Set the "JUMP START" switch on the DieHard unit to the "ON" position.
- Attempt to start the vehicle. If it does not start immediately, wait a few minutes before trying again. Do not crank the engine for more than 5 seconds per attempt.
- Once the vehicle starts, immediately set the "JUMP START" switch on the DieHard unit to the "OFF" position.
- Disconnect the BLACK negative (-) clamp first, then disconnect the RED positive (+) clamp.
- Store the clamps securely in their designated holders on the unit.

4.2. Using the USB and 12V DC Power Ports
The DieHard 71687 provides portable power for various electronic devices.
- USB Power Port (2.1A): Ideal for charging smartphones, tablets, and other USB-powered devices.
- Press the "USB ON/OFF" button to activate the USB port. The USB indicator light will illuminate.
- Connect your device's USB charging cable to the unit's USB port.
- When finished, press the "USB ON/OFF" button again to turn off the USB port.
- 12V DC Power Outlets (x2): Suitable for powering 12V DC appliances up to 36 hours, such as portable coolers, fans, or other automotive accessories.
- Plug your 12V DC appliance into one of the 12V DC outlets.
- Ensure the appliance's power switch is on (if applicable).
- The 12V DC outlets are always active when the unit has sufficient charge.

4.3. Using the Air Compressor
The integrated 150 PSI air compressor can inflate vehicle tires, bicycle tires, sports balls, and other inflatables.
- Ensure the DieHard unit is fully charged.
- Uncoil the air compressor hose from its storage compartment.
- Select the appropriate nozzle adapter from the accessory bag for the item you wish to inflate. Attach it securely to the compressor hose valve.
- Connect the hose to the item to be inflated. For tires, screw the hose valve onto the tire's valve stem.
- Turn the "AIR COMPRESSOR" switch (if present, or main power switch) to the "ON" position.
- Monitor the pressure gauge on the unit and inflate to the recommended pressure.
- Once the desired pressure is reached, turn the air compressor switch to "OFF".
- Disconnect the hose from the item and store the hose and adapters.

Important: Do not operate the air compressor for more than 10 consecutive minutes. Allow it to cool for at least 10 minutes before resuming operation to prevent damage from overheating.
