Setup and Installation

1. Battery Installation

Install the provided batteries into both the transmitter (remote control) and the receiver box. Ensure correct polarity.

2. Receiver Placement

The receiver box can be installed in various locations:

  • Inside the wall (using the wall plate)
  • On the hearth
  • Under the fireplace, behind the control access panel

Ensure the receiver is placed in a location where it can receive signals from the transmitter and is not exposed to excessive heat.

3. Wiring the Receiver

Connect the receiver to your gas heating appliance's control valve according to the appliance manufacturer's instructions. Typically, this involves connecting two low-voltage wires from the receiver to the appliance's millivolt or 24V control terminals. Consult a qualified technician if you are unsure about wiring.

4. Pairing (Learn Function)

To establish communication between the transmitter and receiver:

  1. Locate the "LEARN" button on the receiver box.
  2. Press and hold the "LEARN" button until you hear a beep or see an indicator light flash.
  3. Within 20 seconds, press any button on the transmitter.
  4. The receiver will beep or flash again to confirm successful pairing.

Test the connection by pressing the ON/OFF buttons on the transmitter.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

  • To turn the fireplace ON, press the ON (Up Arrow) button on the transmitter.
  • To turn the fireplace OFF, press the OFF (Down Arrow) button on the transmitter.

2. Setting the Temperature

The LCD displays both the current room temperature and the set temperature.

  1. Press the SET button once. The set temperature will flash.
  2. Use the ON (Up Arrow) or OFF (Down Arrow) buttons to adjust the desired temperature.
  3. Press SET again to confirm, or wait a few seconds for the setting to automatically save.

3. Switching Between °F and °C

To change the temperature display unit:

  • With the display showing the room temperature, press and hold the SET button for approximately 5 seconds until the unit changes.

4. Receiver Slider Switch

The receiver box has a slider switch with three positions:

  • ON: Manually turns the fireplace ON, bypassing the remote control.
  • REMOTE: Allows the fireplace to be controlled by the wireless transmitter. This is the standard operating position.
  • OFF: Manually turns the fireplace OFF, bypassing the remote control.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

When the low battery indicator appears on the LCD, or if the system becomes unresponsive, replace the batteries in both the transmitter and receiver. Use fresh alkaline batteries of the specified type (refer to specifications). Dispose of old batteries responsibly.

Cleaning

Wipe the surfaces of the transmitter and receiver with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the units in water.

Troubleshooting
