6. Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your machine.
6.1 Daily Cleaning
- Milk Reservoir and Nozzle: After each milk-based beverage, detach the milk reservoir and rinse it thoroughly with warm water. Disassemble the milk nozzle components and wash them with warm soapy water. Reassemble and reattach. Running a short cycle with water through the milk system can help clear residues.
- Drip Tray and Used Capsule Container: Empty and rinse the drip tray and used capsule container daily or when full.
- Exterior: Wipe the machine's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
6.2 Descaling
Descaling is essential to remove mineral deposits and maintain machine efficiency. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage. Refer to the descaling instructions provided with your descaling solution, typically recommended every 3-6 months.
- Empty the water tank and used capsule container.
- Fill the water tank with descaling solution according to the product instructions.
- Place a large container under both spouts.
- Initiate the descaling cycle (refer to your machine's specific descaling procedure, often by holding down certain buttons).
- Once the descaling cycle is complete, rinse the water tank and fill it with fresh water.
- Run several rinse cycles with fresh water to remove any descaling solution residue.
