3. Product Overview

3.1. Front Panel

4. Setup

4.1. Connecting the Device

  1. Antenna Connection: Connect your digital TV antenna cable to the RF IN port on the rear panel of the converter.
  2. TV Connection:
    • For High-Definition (HD) TVs: Connect an HDMI cable from the HDMI port on the converter to an available HDMI input on your TV.
    • For Standard-Definition (SD) TVs: Connect the AV (RCA) cable (Yellow for video, White for left audio, Red for right audio) from the AV OUT ports on the converter to the corresponding AV input ports on your TV.
  3. Power Connection: Connect the power adapter to the AC IN port on the converter, then plug the adapter into a power outlet.

4.2. Initial Setup and Channel Scan

  1. Turn on your TV and select the correct input source (HDMI or AV) that corresponds to where you connected the converter.
  2. Turn on the Tomate MCD-999 converter using the power button on the front panel or the remote control.
  3. The first time you power on the device, an initial setup wizard may appear. Follow the on-screen prompts to select your language and country/region.
  4. Initiate an automatic channel scan. This process will search for all available digital TV channels in your area. This may take several minutes.
  5. Once the scan is complete, the device will save the channels, and you can begin watching digital TV.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Basic TV Viewing

  • Channel Selection: Use the CH+/CH- buttons on the remote or the number pad to change channels.
  • Volume Control: Use the VOL+/VOL- buttons to adjust the volume.
  • Mute: Press the MUTE button to temporarily silence the audio.

5.2. Recording Programs (PVR Function)

To record TV programs, you will need a USB storage device (e.g., USB flash drive or external hard drive) formatted to FAT32 or NTFS.

  1. Insert the USB storage device into the USB port on the front panel.
  2. To record the current program, press the REC button on the remote control. Press it again to stop recording.
  3. To schedule a recording, access the EPG (Electronic Program Guide) by pressing the EPG button, select the desired program, and follow the on-screen prompts to set a timer recording.

5.3. Multimedia Playback

The device supports playback of various multimedia files (video, audio, images) from a connected USB storage device.

  1. Insert the USB storage device into the USB port.
  2. Press the USB button on the remote control to access the multimedia menu.
  3. Navigate through the folders and files using the arrow keys and press OK to select and play.

7. Troubleshooting
