3. Setup

Proper installation is crucial for the efficient operation of your portable air conditioner. This unit includes a window kit for venting exhaust air.

3.1 Unpacking and Component Identification

Carefully remove all packaging materials. Ensure all components are present before proceeding with installation.

3.2 Window Kit Installation

  1. Prepare the Window: Open the window where the unit will be vented. Remove any screens if necessary.
  2. Assemble the Window Kit: The adjustable window kit (6.5"W x 26.75" (min) / 82" (max) L) can be configured for horizontal or vertical windows. Adjust the length of the window kit to fit your window opening.
  3. Attach Exhaust Hose: Connect the extendable exhaust hose (up to 59" long, 6.0" diameter) to the hose connector on the back of the AC unit.
  4. Secure to Window: Insert the other end of the exhaust hose connector into the opening of the window kit. Close the window sash firmly against the kit to secure it in place. Use the provided weather stripping to seal any gaps around the window kit for optimal efficiency.

3.3 Unit Placement

Place the portable air conditioner on a flat, stable surface. Ensure there is at least 20 inches of clearance around the unit for proper airflow. The unit is equipped with caster wheels for easy mobility.

4. Operating Instructions

Your ARC-102CS unit can be operated using the control panel on the top of the unit or the included remote control.

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your unit.

5.1 Air Filter Cleaning

The unit is equipped with a washable pre-filter and an activated carbon filter. Clean the pre-filter every two weeks or as needed, and replace the activated carbon filter every 2-3 months.

  1. Turn off the unit and unplug it from the power outlet.
  2. Remove the filter frame from the back of the unit.
  3. Gently wash the pre-filter under running water (warm, soapy water if heavily soiled).
  4. Allow the pre-filter to air dry completely before reinstalling.
  5. Replace the activated carbon filter as per recommended schedule.

5.2 Drainage

The ARC-102CS features a patented auto-drain function that automatically exhausts all condensate in most environments. However, in very humid conditions, manual drainage may be required. The unit has upper gravity and lower drain ports for continuous operation.
