Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and efficient operation of your DROK DC-DC Buck Converter module. Please read this manual thoroughly before use and retain it for future reference.
The DROK DC-DC Buck Converter is a step-down voltage regulator module designed to convert a higher DC input voltage to a lower, adjustable DC output voltage. It features an integrated voltmeter for real-time monitoring of input or output voltage and a robust metal casing for heat dissipation.

Safety Information
Important Safety Precautions:
- This module does not include reverse polarity protection. Ensure correct input polarity before connecting power to prevent damage.
- Do not exceed the maximum input voltage of 30V. Exceeding this limit may cause permanent damage to the module.
- Ensure proper ventilation during operation, especially when drawing high currents, to prevent overheating.
- Avoid short circuits at the output. Always connect the load after setting the desired output voltage.
- Handle with care to avoid electrostatic discharge, which can damage electronic components.

Setup
1. Wiring Connections:
- Identify the input terminals labeled 'IN+' and 'IN-'. Connect your DC power source to these terminals, ensuring correct polarity.
- Identify the output terminals labeled 'OUT+' and 'OUT-'. Connect your load to these terminals.
- Note: This module does not have reverse polarity protection. Incorrect connections will damage the module.
2. Initial Voltage Adjustment:
- Before connecting your load, apply power to the input terminals.
- Use a small screwdriver to carefully turn the potentiometer (labeled 'ADJ' or similar) to adjust the output voltage. Monitor the output voltage using the onboard voltmeter or an external multimeter.
- Adjust the potentiometer clockwise to increase voltage and counter-clockwise to decrease voltage.
- Set the desired output voltage before connecting your device.

Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off:
- Connect the input power source. The digital voltmeter will illuminate.
- To power off, disconnect the input power source.
2. Voltmeter Display Mode:
- The module features a button located below the digital tube display.
- Press this button briefly to switch between displaying the input voltage ('IN' LED illuminated) and the output voltage ('OUT' LED illuminated).
- The voltmeter is factory calibrated and typically does not require further adjustment.
3. Voltage Adjustment:
- The output voltage is adjustable via the onboard potentiometer. Turn the potentiometer clockwise to increase the output voltage and counter-clockwise to decrease it.
- Always verify the output voltage with a multimeter for critical applications.
Maintenance
- Keep the module clean and free from dust and debris.
- Ensure adequate airflow around the module, especially during continuous high-power operation, to maintain optimal temperature.
- Regularly check all connections for tightness and signs of wear or corrosion.
- Avoid exposing the module to moisture or extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
No Output Voltage:
- Check input power supply. Ensure it is within the specified range (3.5V-30V).
- Verify input polarity. Incorrect polarity will prevent operation and may damage the module.
- Ensure the output voltage is set to at least 1V lower than the input voltage. This is a buck converter; it cannot boost voltage.
- Check for short circuits at the output.
Incorrect Voltage Reading:
- While the onboard voltmeter is factory calibrated, minor discrepancies (e.g., up to 0.3V) can occur. For precise applications, use an external calibrated multimeter.
Overheating:
- Reduce the load current or ensure better ventilation. The metal casing aids in heat dissipation, but extreme conditions may require additional cooling.
- Ensure the input voltage is not excessively high for the required output, as this increases power dissipation.
