4. Setup
Follow these steps for the initial setup of your Karcher K 3.30 high-pressure washer.
4.1 Assemble the Handle
Insert the two metal rods of the handle into the designated slots on the main unit until they click into place. Then, attach the top handle piece to the rods.

5. Operating Instructions
Before starting, ensure all connections are secure and the water supply is fully open.
5.1 Priming the Pump
Before turning on the unit, press the trigger on the spray gun to release any air from the system. Hold the trigger until a steady stream of water flows from the nozzle. This prevents air pockets from damaging the pump.
5.2 Starting the Unit
Turn the ON/OFF switch to the "ON" position. The motor will start, and the pump will build pressure. The motor will stop when the trigger is released and restart when it is pressed again.
5.3 Using Spray Lances
- Vario Power Spray Lance: Twist the nozzle to adjust the pressure and spray pattern. Use the low-pressure setting for detergent application and higher pressure for general cleaning.
- Dirt Blaster Spray Lance: Produces a powerful rotating jet for removing stubborn dirt. Use with caution as it can be very aggressive on surfaces.
5.4 Applying Detergent
Fill the detergent tank with Karcher pressure washer detergent. Attach the detergent applicator or set the Vario Power lance to the low-pressure (detergent) setting. The pressure washer will automatically draw detergent when operating at low pressure.
5.5 Shutting Down
After use, turn the ON/OFF switch to the "OFF" position. Turn off the water supply. Press the trigger on the spray gun to release any remaining pressure in the system. Disconnect the high-pressure hose, water supply hose, and power cord.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your pressure washer.
- Clean Water Filter: Regularly check and clean the integrated water filter to prevent debris from entering the pump. Remove the filter, rinse it under running water, and reinsert.
- Nozzle Cleaning: If the spray pattern becomes irregular or pressure drops, the nozzle may be clogged. Use the provided nozzle cleaning tool (if applicable) or a thin wire to clear any obstructions.
- Hose and Cord Inspection: Periodically inspect the high-pressure hose and power cord for any signs of damage, kinks, or wear. Replace damaged parts immediately.
- Winter Storage: If storing the unit in an area where temperatures may drop below freezing, drain all water from the pump, hose, and spray gun to prevent damage from freezing. Consider using a pump protector solution.
- General Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior of the unit with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No pressure or low pressure | Insufficient water supply; Air in the pump; Clogged nozzle; Leaks in hose/connections. | Ensure water tap is fully open; Prime the pump (see Section 5.1); Clean the nozzle; Check all connections for leaks. |
| Motor stops frequently | Overheating (thermal protector activated); Voltage drop; Air in the system. | Allow unit to cool down; Ensure proper voltage supply; Prime the pump. |
| Water leaks from pump | Loose connections; Damaged seals. | Tighten connections; Contact authorized service center for seal replacement. |
| Detergent not dispensing | Nozzle not on low-pressure setting; Detergent tank empty; Clogged detergent intake. | Adjust Vario Power lance to low-pressure mode; Refill detergent tank; Clean detergent intake. |
