  • RF IN: Connects to your antenna for digital broadcast reception.
  • RF OUT: Connects to your TV's antenna input for analog pass-through or loop-through.

5. Setup

Follow these steps to connect your Ematic AT102 Digital Converter Box:

  1. Connect Antenna: Connect your outdoor or indoor antenna to the RF IN port on the back of the converter box.
  2. Connect to TV:
    • For Analog TV (RCA): Connect the CVBS (yellow), L (white), and R (red) RCA cables from the converter box to the corresponding input ports on your analog TV.
    • For Digital TV (HDMI): Connect an HDMI cable from the HDMI port on the converter box to an available HDMI input on your TV.
    • For RF Loop-Through: If your TV has an RF input and you wish to use the converter box's RF OUT, connect a coaxial cable from the RF OUT port on the converter box to the RF IN port on your TV.
  3. Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the 5V Power Input on the converter box, then plug the adapter into a wall outlet.
  4. Power On: Turn on your TV and the converter box. Select the correct input source (e.g., AV, HDMI1) on your TV that corresponds to the connection you made.
  5. Initial Scan: The first time you power on the unit, it may automatically prompt you to perform a channel scan. If not, navigate to the "Channel Search" or "Auto Scan" option in the menu and initiate the scan. This will find all available digital channels in your area.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Operation

  • Power On/Off: Press the POWER button on the remote or the front panel.
  • Channel Selection: Use the CH+/- buttons or enter the channel number directly using the numeric keypad on the remote.
  • Volume Control: Use the VOL+/- buttons on the remote.
  • Menu Access: Press the MENU button to access system settings and features.

6.2 Electronic Program Guide (EPG)

Press the EPG button on the remote to view the Electronic Program Guide. This displays program schedules for all available channels, including program information and broadcast times. You can navigate through channels and times using the arrow keys.

6.3 Multimedia Playback

Insert a USB flash drive or external hard drive into the USB port on the front panel. Access the "Multimedia" section from the main menu to browse and play compatible files such as MP3, AVI, MPG, DAT, VOB, MKV, JPEG, and BMP.

6.4 Recording Programs

The AT102 supports real-time recording and scheduled recording to a connected USB drive.

  • Real-time Recording: While watching a program, press the REC button on the remote to start recording. Press STOP to end recording.
  • Scheduled Recording: Use the EPG to select a program, then follow the on-screen prompts to schedule a recording. You can set timers for specific start and stop times.
  • Time Shift: Press the PAUSE button during live TV to temporarily pause the broadcast. Press PLAY to resume from where you left off. A USB drive must be connected for this feature.

6.5 Parental Controls

To restrict access to certain channels, navigate to the "Parental Control" section in the menu. You can set a password and block channels based on ratings or specific channel numbers.

6.6 Closed Captioning

Press the CC button on the remote to enable or disable closed captioning, or to select different captioning options if available.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Disconnect the power before cleaning. Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to wipe the exterior of the unit. Do not use liquid cleaners, aerosols, or abrasive materials.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the ventilation slots on the unit are not blocked by dust or debris. Periodically clean them with a soft brush or compressed air.
