1. Introduction
The Monoprice Monolith 4-Tier Audio Stand is designed to organize and display your home theater or entertainment system components. It features a sturdy, modular design with open-air shelving to ensure proper ventilation for your equipment.
This manual provides detailed instructions for the assembly, safe operation, and maintenance of your audio stand.
2. Safety Information
Please read and understand all safety instructions before assembly and use. Failure to follow these instructions may result in property damage or personal injury.
- Weight Limit: Each shelf can support up to 75 lbs (34 kg). The total weight capacity for the entire stand is 300 lbs (136 kg). Do not exceed these limits.
- Secure Components: Always ensure all audio/video components are securely placed on the shelves to prevent them from falling.
- Level Surface: Assemble and place the stand on a stable, level surface to prevent tipping.
- Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the stand during assembly. Do not allow them to climb on or play with the stand.
- Ventilation: The open-air design promotes airflow. Do not block ventilation openings of your electronic components.
3. Package Contents
Verify that all components are present before beginning assembly. If any parts are missing or damaged, contact Monoprice customer support.

4. Assembly Instructions
Assembly is straightforward and typically requires no special tools. A rubber mallet may be helpful for seating the threaded caps for the feet.
- Prepare the Base:
- Place one MDF shelf (this will be the bottom shelf) upside down on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches.
- Attach the four feet/spikes to the designated holes on the bottom shelf. Ensure they are securely tightened. If using carpet spikes, insert the threaded caps into the bottom of each foot first. A rubber mallet can assist in seating these caps.
- Attach Support Tubes:
- Screw the first set of steel support tubes into the top side of the bottom shelf. Ensure they are hand-tightened securely. Note that one set of tubes may be longer to accommodate taller components on a specific tier. Plan your desired configuration.
- Add Subsequent Shelves:
- Carefully place the next MDF shelf onto the top of the attached support tubes, aligning the holes.
- Screw the next set of support tubes into the top of this shelf.
- Repeat this process for the remaining shelves and support tubes until all four tiers are assembled.
- Final Tightening and Leveling:
- Once all shelves and tubes are in place, gently tighten all connections to ensure stability. Do not overtighten.
- Place the assembled stand in its desired location. Use the adjustable feet/spikes to level the stand. It is recommended to level the front two legs first, then a third leg, and finally the fourth for optimal balance.

5. Operating Instructions
The Monolith Audio Stand is designed for straightforward use with your audio and video components.
- Component Placement: Carefully place your audio/video components onto the shelves. Distribute weight evenly across each shelf.
- Cable Management: The open-air design and curved rear edges of the shelves facilitate cable routing. Organize cables neatly to prevent tangles and ensure proper airflow.
- Ventilation: Ensure that the ventilation openings of your electronic devices are not obstructed by other components or cables. The stand's design promotes natural convection cooling.

6. Maintenance
To maintain the appearance and longevity of your audio stand, follow these simple care instructions:
- Cleaning: Wipe the shelves and steel tubes with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
- Inspection: Periodically check all connections to ensure they remain tight and secure.
- Avoid Moisture: Do not expose the stand to excessive moisture or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Monolith Audio Stand, consider the following:
- Stand Wobbles:
- Ensure the stand is placed on a completely level surface.
- Adjust the individual feet/spikes to achieve perfect balance.
- Verify that all support tubes are securely tightened to the shelves.
- Scratches on Shelves:
- The shelves are designed to be scratch-resistant, but not scratch-proof. Avoid dragging heavy or sharp objects across the surface.
- Use felt pads under components if concerned about potential scratching.
- Overheating Components:
- Ensure adequate space around components for airflow.
- Verify that no cables are blocking the ventilation grilles of your devices.
