3. Setup and Installation
3.1 Unpacking
- Remove all packaging materials, including the polystyrene base and any protective film.
- Check the appliance for any transport damage. Do not operate a damaged appliance.
3.2 Removing Transport Bolts
Before using the machine, you must remove the transport bolts located at the rear of the appliance. Failure to do so will cause severe vibration and damage during operation.
- Loosen all transport bolts using the supplied wrench.
- Remove the bolts and their sleeves.
- Insert the plastic caps provided into the holes.
3.3 Location and Leveling
- Place the washing machine on a firm, level surface.
- Adjust the appliance's feet to ensure it is perfectly level. Use a spirit level to verify.
- Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the machine.
3.4 Water Connection
- Connect the cold water inlet hose to a tap with a 3/4" thread.
- Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks. Do not overtighten.
3.5 Drain Connection
- The drain hose can be hooked into a sink or connected to a standpipe.
- Ensure the drain hose is not kinked or obstructed. The end of the hose must be between 60 cm and 100 cm from the floor.
3.6 Electrical Connection
- Plug the power cord into a properly earthed socket.
- Ensure the voltage and frequency match the specifications on the rating plate of the appliance.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Before First Use
Run an empty wash cycle at 60°C without laundry to clean the drum and remove any manufacturing residues.
4.2 Loading Laundry
- Open the door and load laundry loosely into the drum. Do not overload the machine.
- Close the door firmly until it clicks shut.
4.3 Adding Detergent and Additives
Pull out the detergent drawer. Add detergent to the main wash compartment (II) and fabric softener to the compartment marked with a flower symbol. Pre-wash detergent goes into compartment (I).
4.4 Selecting a Program
- Turn the program selector dial to the desired wash program (e.g., Cottons, Synthetics, Delicates/Silk, Wool).
- Adjust temperature and spin speed if necessary using the corresponding buttons.
4.5 Starting the Wash Cycle
Press the 'Start/Reload' button to begin the selected program. The indicator light will illuminate.
4.6 Pausing and Reloading
To pause a running program, press the 'Start/Reload' button. If the water level and temperature allow, the door will unlock, and you can add or remove laundry. Press 'Start/Reload' again to resume.
4.7 End of Program
The program ends when the 'End' indicator lights up. The door will unlock automatically. Remove laundry promptly to prevent creasing.
4.8 Child Lock
To activate the child lock, press and hold the 'Spin' and 'Temp' buttons simultaneously for approximately 3 seconds. A key symbol will appear on the display. Repeat the process to deactivate.
5. Maintenance and Care
5.1 Cleaning the Exterior
Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
5.2 Cleaning the Detergent Drawer
Regularly remove and clean the detergent drawer under running water to prevent detergent residue buildup.
5.3 Cleaning the Drain Pump Filter
The drain pump filter should be cleaned periodically to remove lint and small objects. Refer to the diagram in your physical manual for the exact location and procedure.
5.4 Drum Clean Program
Use the 'Drum Clean' program (if available on your model) or run a hot wash cycle with a descaling agent or washing machine cleaner every few months to maintain drum hygiene.
