4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Material Preparation
- Ensure your coating material is properly mixed and free of debris.
- Pour the prepared material into the FlexLiner bag within the cup. Do not overfill.
4.2 Adjusting Settings
- Turn on the HVLP unit.
- Use the TurboControl System dial to adjust the turbine speed. Higher speeds are generally for thicker materials or faster application.
- Adjust the material flow knob on the EDGE II gun to control the amount of material being sprayed.
- Test the spray pattern on a scrap piece of material to ensure desired coverage and finish.

4.3 Spraying Technique
- Maintain a consistent distance from the surface (typically 6-10 inches).
- Move the gun in smooth, even passes, overlapping each pass by about 50%.
- Release the trigger at the end of each pass to avoid excessive material buildup.
- The FlexLiner system allows spraying at various angles, including upside down, for hard-to-reach areas.

- After each use, disconnect the power.
- Remove the FlexLiner bag and dispose of any remaining material properly.
- Clean the spray gun thoroughly with appropriate cleaning solution (water for latex, solvent for oil-based paints).
- Clean the needle and air cap.
- Rinse the FlexLiner cup if reusing, or dispose of it.
- Clean the exterior of the HVLP unit.
5.2 Filter Maintenance
- Regularly inspect the standard filtration system filter.
- Clean the washable filter as needed to maintain optimal airflow and prevent motor strain.
- Replace the filter if it shows signs of damage or excessive wear.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Poor spray pattern / Spitting | Clogged nozzle or air cap; incorrect material viscosity; insufficient air pressure. | Clean nozzle and air cap; thin material if necessary; increase turbine speed. |
| No material flow | Empty FlexLiner bag; clogged intake tube; blocked needle. | Refill or replace FlexLiner bag; clear intake tube; clean needle. |
| Excessive overspray | Too much air pressure; material too thin; gun too far from surface. | Reduce turbine speed; adjust material viscosity; move gun closer to surface. |
| Unit not turning on | No power; faulty switch; motor issue. | Check power connection; contact customer support if switch or motor is suspected. |
