4.1 Ironing with Steam

4.3 Vertical Steaming
The vertical steam function is ideal for refreshing hanging garments, curtains, or delicate fabrics.
- Hang the garment on a hanger.
- Hold the iron vertically, a few centimeters away from the fabric.
- Press the steam trigger to release steam. Move the iron up and down the garment.
- Caution: Do not direct steam towards people or pets.
4.4 Eco Mode
To activate Eco mode, press the "Eco" button on the base unit. This mode optimizes steam output and temperature to reduce energy consumption while still providing effective ironing results for most fabrics.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your steam generator iron.
5.1 Cleaning the Soleplate
- Ensure the iron is unplugged and completely cool.
- Wipe the ceramic soleplate with a damp cloth. For stubborn marks, use a non-abrasive cleaning agent specifically designed for iron soleplates.

5.2 Descaling (Anti-Calc Cartridge)
The Tefal SV7030 Liberty features an integrated anti-calc cartridge to manage limescale. The "Anti-Calc" indicator light on the base unit will illuminate when the cartridge needs attention.
- Ensure the appliance is unplugged and cool.
- Locate the anti-calc cartridge compartment, usually accessible by removing the water tank or a specific cover.
- Remove the old anti-calc cartridge.
- Insert a new Tefal anti-calc cartridge, ensuring it is correctly seated.
- Reset the anti-calc indicator by pressing and holding the "Anti-Calc" button for a few seconds (refer to Figure 4.1 for button location).

After use, unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely. Empty any remaining water from the tank. Secure the iron to its base using the safety lock system. Store the steam generator in a dry, safe place.
