1. Introduction
The Topping MX3 is a multi-functional audio device designed to enhance your listening experience. It integrates a Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC), a headphone amplifier, a power amplifier, and a Bluetooth receiver into a single compact unit. With a variety of input options including Bluetooth, USB, optical, coaxial, and AUX, the MX3 offers versatile connectivity for your PC, smartphone, tablet, and other digital audio sources. 3. Setup and Connections
Before connecting any cables, ensure the MX3 and all connected devices are powered off. Connect the power adapter to the MX3 and then to a power outlet. Attach the Bluetooth antenna to the designated port on the rear panel.

3.1 Connecting to a PC
The MX3's integrated DAC offers superior audio quality compared to most PC sound cards. Connect your PC to the MX3 using a USB, optical, or coaxial cable. Then, connect the MX3 to your speakers via the banana plug outputs or headphones via the 3.5mm headphone jack. An active subwoofer can also be connected to the dedicated RCA subwoofer output.
3.2 Connecting to Speakers and Headphones
- Speakers: Use banana plugs to connect your passive speakers to the L Out and R Out terminals.
- Headphones: Plug your headphones into the 3.5mm headphone jack on the front panel.
- Subwoofer: Connect an active subwoofer to the RCA subwoofer output (SW Out).
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Power On/Off and Volume Control
- Power: Press the main knob on the front panel or the power button on the remote control to turn the unit on or off. The MX3 also features an automatic on/off function.
- Volume: Rotate the main knob on the front panel or use the volume buttons on the remote control to adjust the volume.
4.2 Input Selection
Press the input selection button on the front panel or the remote control to cycle through available inputs: Bluetooth (BT), USB, Optical (OPT), Coaxial (COAX), and Auxiliary (AUX).
4.3 Bluetooth Operation
The MX3 can function as a Bluetooth receiver, allowing wireless audio streaming from your smartphone or tablet.
- NFC Pairing: For quick pairing, bring your NFC-enabled phone or tablet close to the NFC tag on the MX3. Follow the on-screen prompts to connect.
- Manual Pairing: If your device does not have NFC, search for "Topping MX3" in your device's Bluetooth settings and select it to connect.
- Disconnecting: To disconnect via NFC, bring your device close to the NFC tag again.

4.4 DAC + Pre-amplifier Function
If you wish to use the MX3 with an external power amplifier, it can serve as a DAC and pre-amplifier. Connect your audio source (BT/USB/Optical/Coaxial/AUX) to the MX3, and then connect the headphone output signal to your external amplifier's input.

4.5 Simple Power Amplifier & Headphone Amplifier
The MX3 can directly drive passive speakers and headphones. Connect your audio source (player, DAC, TV, phone, PC, etc.) to the MX3's input, and then connect your speakers or headphones to the corresponding outputs.

4.6 Tone Control
The MX3 allows for independent adjustment of treble and bass. These adjustments are typically made using the remote control.
5. Maintenance
- Keep the device away from heat sources, direct sunlight, humidity, and water.
- Clean the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Ensure proper ventilation around the unit to prevent overheating.
- Do not attempt to open the casing or modify the device, as this will void the warranty and may cause damage.
6. Troubleshooting
- No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the MX3 and a working power outlet. Check the power cable for damage.
- No Sound:
- Verify the correct input source is selected on the MX3.
- Check all audio cables for secure connections.
- Ensure the volume is not set to minimum or muted.
- Confirm that connected speakers or headphones are functioning correctly.
- Bluetooth Connection Issues:
- Ensure the MX3 is in Bluetooth input mode.
- Move your Bluetooth device closer to the MX3 (within 10 meters).
- Try unpairing and re-pairing the device.
- Ensure no other devices are actively connected to the MX3 via Bluetooth.
- Remote Control Not Responding: Check the battery in the remote control. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the MX3's IR receiver.
