Maintenance

Cleaning the Remote

To maintain optimal performance and appearance, clean the remote control regularly:

  • Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface of the remote.
  • For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid excessive moisture.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaning pads, as these can damage the remote's finish or internal components.

Battery Care

  • Replace batteries when the remote's responsiveness decreases.
  • If the remote will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and potential damage.
  • Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.

Troubleshooting

If your remote control is not functioning as expected, try the following steps:

Remote Control Not Responding:

  1. Check Batteries: Ensure new AA batteries are correctly installed with the correct polarity (+/-).
  2. Power Cycle Remote: Remove the batteries from the remote. Press and hold the power button on the remote for 5 seconds to drain any residual power. While batteries are out, gently press each button a couple of times to ensure no buttons are stuck. Reinsert brand new batteries, ensuring correct alignment.
  3. Line of Sight: Ensure there is a clear line of sight between the remote control and the TV's infrared sensor. Obstructions can block the signal.
  4. Remote Compatibility: Verify that the remote model is specifically compatible with your Proscan TV model. Refer to the product description or your TV's original manual.

TV Not Responding to Remote:

  1. Power Cycle TV: Unplug the TV from the power outlet. Press and hold the power button on the TV itself for 15 seconds to drain any residual power. Plug the TV back in and power it on. Test the remote again. This can resolve various TV-related issues.
  2. TV Sensor: Ensure the TV's infrared sensor is not blocked or dirty.

If issues persist after following these steps, please contact USARMT customer support for further assistance.
