4. Setup and First Use

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials and any labels from the griddle.
  2. Clean: Before first use, wash the griddle plate and drip tray in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. The temperature probe should never be immersed in water.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

  1. Cool Down: Always ensure the griddle is completely cool before attempting to clean.
  2. Remove Temperature Probe: Detach the temperature probe from the griddle. The probe is not dishwasher safe and should never be immersed in water. Wipe it clean with a damp cloth if necessary.
  3. Remove Drip Tray: Slide out the drip tray and empty its contents. Wash the drip tray in warm, soapy water or place it in the dishwasher.
  4. Clean Griddle Plate: The griddle plate is dishwasher safe. Alternatively, it can be washed by hand in warm, soapy water using a non-abrasive sponge or cloth. For stubborn food residue, allow the griddle to soak for a short period before cleaning.
  5. Dry Thoroughly: Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling or storing the griddle.
  6. Storage: Store the griddle in a dry place. Its compact design allows for vertical storage to save space.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Griddle Not Heating: Ensure the temperature probe is fully inserted and clicked into place. Verify the power cord is securely plugged into a working 110V outlet. Check if the temperature knob is set to an active heating temperature (not 'OFF' or 'WARM' if higher heat is desired).
  • Food Sticking: Although the griddle has a non-stick surface, some foods may benefit from a light application of cooking spray or oil, especially for first-time use or specific recipes. Ensure the griddle is properly preheated before adding food.
  • Uneven Cooking: Allow sufficient time for the griddle to fully preheat. The indicator light cycling on and off confirms temperature maintenance. If issues persist, ensure the griddle is on a flat, stable surface.
