Components

The Power Zone EH-4604A Mount Garage Heater is designed for robust performance in garage environments. Its primary components include the heating elements, a fan for heat distribution, a control panel for operation, and a mounting bracket for installation.
Setup and Installation
Mounting Instructions
The EH-4604A heater is designed for ceiling-mount installation. Use the included 3-way bracket to securely attach the unit to a sturdy ceiling joist or support structure. Ensure the mounting location allows for proper air circulation and is away from any obstructions or flammable materials. Refer to the detailed installation diagrams in the separate installation guide for specific measurements and hardware requirements.
Electrical Connection
This heater requires a 240V electrical supply. It draws approximately 20.83 Amps at its maximum 5000W setting. A dedicated circuit with appropriate overcurrent protection (circuit breaker) is mandatory. Consult a qualified electrician for proper wiring and connection to ensure compliance with all local and national electrical codes.
Operating Instructions
Controls
- Thermostat Knob: Located on the front panel, this knob controls the desired room temperature. Rotate it clockwise to increase the temperature setting and counter-clockwise to decrease it. It also serves as the ON/OFF switch.
- Wattage Selector Switch: A toggle switch allows selection between 3000W, 4000W, and 5000W heat output settings.
- Power Indicator Light: Illuminates when the heater is receiving power and operating.
- Caution Light: Illuminates if the safety overheat control has been activated, indicating the heater has temporarily shut down due to excessive temperature.
Initial Operation
- Ensure the heater is properly installed and connected to a 240V power supply.
- Turn the thermostat knob to the 'OFF' position.
- Select the desired wattage using the wattage selector switch (e.g., 4000W for general use).
- Rotate the thermostat knob clockwise past the 'OFF' position towards 'HIGH'. The power indicator light should illuminate, and the fan will begin to operate, followed by the heating elements.
- Allow the heater to run for a few minutes to ensure proper function and heat output.
Adjusting Heat Settings
To adjust the heat output, use the wattage selector switch. Lower wattage settings (3000W, 4000W) consume less power and are suitable for smaller spaces or milder conditions. The 5000W setting provides maximum heat for larger areas or colder temperatures.
Automatic Thermostat Function
Once the desired room temperature is reached, the automatic thermostat will cycle the heating elements on and off to maintain that temperature. The fan may continue to run to circulate air. If the room temperature drops below the set point, the heating elements will reactivate.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your heater. Always disconnect power to the unit before performing any maintenance.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the heater with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the air intake and exhaust vents are free from dust and debris.
- Inspection: Annually inspect the power cord for any signs of damage. Check mounting hardware for tightness.
- Internal Cleaning: For internal cleaning, it is recommended to consult a qualified service technician.
Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your Power Zone EH-4604A heater, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Heater does not turn on. | No power supply, thermostat set too low, circuit breaker tripped. | Check power connection, increase thermostat setting, reset circuit breaker. |
| No heat output. | Wattage switch set to 0, thermostat set too low, safety overheat activated. | Select a wattage setting, increase thermostat, allow heater to cool and reset. |
| Caution light is on. | Heater has overheated. | Turn off the heater, allow it to cool for 30 minutes, check for obstructions around vents, then restart. If problem persists, contact support. |
| Insufficient heating. | Wattage setting too low for room size, poor insulation, external drafts. | Increase wattage setting, improve room insulation, seal drafts. |
If troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, contact Power Zone customer support for assistance.
