This technical drawing provides precise measurements for the GROHE Eurosmart Cosmopolitan E faucet, including height, reach, base diameter (Ø34), and connection hose length (450mm), crucial for installation planning.
5. Installation
Before beginning, ensure you have all necessary tools and that the water supply is turned off. Refer to Figure 2 for component identification and Figure 3 for dimensional requirements.
- Prepare the Mounting Surface: Ensure the mounting hole on your sink or countertop has a diameter of at least Ø34mm (as shown in Figure 3) and a maximum thickness of 35mm.
- Install the Faucet Body: Insert the main faucet body (1) through the mounting hole. Ensure the sealing ring (part of 4) is correctly positioned between the faucet base and the mounting surface.
- Secure the Faucet: From underneath the sink, place the metal washer and mounting nut (part of 4) onto the threaded rod extending from the faucet. Tighten securely using a 13mm wrench (as indicated by tool 11 in Figure 2) to prevent movement.
- Connect Water Supply: Connect the flexible hoses (part of 3) from the faucet to your cold or pre-mixed water supply lines. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks.
- Install Battery Compartment: Mount the battery compartment (6) in an accessible location under the sink, away from direct water exposure. Connect the cable from the faucet to the battery compartment.
- Insert Battery: Open the battery compartment (6.1) and insert a 6V Lithium Battery, CR-P2 Type. Ensure correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.
- Test for Leaks: Slowly turn on the main water supply and check all connections for any signs of leakage.
6. Initial Setup
After installation, perform the following steps to ensure proper functionality.
- Flush the Lines: Allow water to run for a few minutes to flush out any debris from the water lines before using the faucet.
- Sensor Calibration: The infrared sensor typically self-calibrates upon initial power-up. Ensure no objects are in front of the sensor during this process.
- Check Water Temperature (if pre-mixed): If using a pre-mixed water supply, verify the temperature is suitable for use. This faucet does not have an integrated temperature control.
7. Operating Instructions
The GROHE Eurosmart Cosmopolitan E faucet operates via an infrared sensor, providing touchless water delivery.
- Activating Water Flow: Place your hands within the detection range of the infrared sensor, located on the front of the faucet body. The water will begin to flow automatically.
- Stopping Water Flow: Remove your hands from the sensor's detection range. The water flow will stop automatically after a short delay.
- Sensor Range: The sensor is designed to detect hands efficiently without false activations. Avoid placing reflective objects directly in front of the sensor.
8. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your faucet.
8.1. Cleaning
- Clean the chrome finish with a soft cloth and mild soap or a non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for chrome.
- Do not use abrasive sponges, scouring agents, or cleaners containing alcohol, acids, or ammonia, as these can damage the finish.
- Gently wipe the infrared sensor window with a soft, damp cloth to ensure clear detection.
- Periodically remove and clean the aerator (2) to remove any mineral deposits that may affect water flow. Twist counter-clockwise to remove.
8.2. Battery Replacement
The faucet is powered by a 6V Lithium Battery, CR-P2 Type. The battery life depends on usage.
- Turn off Water Supply: For safety, it is recommended to turn off the main water supply before accessing components under the sink.
- Locate Battery Compartment: The battery compartment (6) is typically mounted under the sink.
- Open Compartment: Open the battery compartment cover (6.1).
- Replace Battery: Remove the old CR-P2 battery and insert a new one, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close Compartment: Securely close the battery compartment cover.
- Test Faucet: Turn on the water supply and test the faucet operation.
