4. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps carefully to install your Kichler Edmund Pendant Light. Professional installation by a qualified electrician is recommended.
- Turn Off Power: Before starting, ensure the power supply to the junction box is turned off at the circuit breaker or fuse box.
- Unpack and Inspect: Carefully remove all contents from the carton. Inspect the fixture and all components for any damage.
- Attach Mounting Strap: Secure the mounting strap to the outlet box using the screws provided with the outlet box. The mounting strap should be oriented so that the threaded holes are facing away from the outlet box.
- Determine Chain Length: Decide on the desired hanging height for your pendant light. Open one link of the chain and attach it to the loop on the fixture. Open another link and attach it to the canopy loop. Remove any excess chain links.
- Thread Wires: Carefully thread the fixture wires through the chain, then through the canopy loop, and finally through the center hole of the canopy.
- Make Electrical Connections:

- Connect the bare copper (ground) wire from the fixture to the bare copper (ground) wire from the outlet box using a wire nut. Secure the ground wire to the mounting strap with the green ground screw.
- Connect the ribbed (neutral) wire from the fixture to the white (neutral) wire from the outlet box using a wire nut.
- Connect the smooth (hot) wire from the fixture to the black (hot) wire from the outlet box using a wire nut.
- Ensure all wire nuts are securely tightened and wrapped with electrical tape for added safety.
- Secure Canopy: Carefully push the canopy up against the ceiling, covering the outlet box. Secure it in place using the collar ring or screws provided, ensuring a snug fit.

- Install Bulbs: Screw five (5) E12 Candelabra Base T8 bulbs (max 60 watts each, sold separately) into the sockets. Do not overtighten.

5. Operating Instructions
The Kichler Edmund Pendant Light is designed for simple operation.
- Power On/Off: Control the light using a standard wall switch connected to the fixture's circuit.
- Dimmable Feature: This fixture is dimmable. To utilize the dimming function, ensure you have installed dimmable E12 Candelabra Base T8 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch (both sold separately). The control method for dimming is typically via the wall-mounted dimmer switch.
- Bulb Type: Use five (5) E12 Candelabra Base T8 bulbs, with a maximum wattage of 60 watts per bulb. The fixture is compatible with incandescent, LED, or halogen bulbs, provided they have the correct base and wattage.
