Figure 1: ABSAAR Automatic Charger Evo 1.0. This image shows the compact red and black charger unit with its attached charging cables and clamps.
Key features include:
- Easy to Use: Precise processor-controlled temperature and intelligent charging, no settings required.
- Durable Material: High-quality construction, anti-corrosion and anti-electric shock.
- High Frequency Charging: Ideal for powerful and fast charging.
- Multiple Safety Protections: Low voltage, overvoltage, overcurrent, short circuit, and overheating protection.
4. Setup
- Ensure the charger is disconnected from the AC power outlet.
- Identify the battery terminals: positive (+) and negative (-).
- Connect the red (+) clamp of the charger to the positive (+) terminal of the battery.
- Connect the black (-) clamp of the charger to the negative (-) terminal of the battery. For vehicles, if connecting to the chassis, connect to a heavy gauge metal part of the chassis away from the battery and fuel line.
- Ensure all connections are secure.
5. Operating Instructions
Once the charger is securely connected to the battery:
- Plug the charger's AC power cord into a standard wall outlet (230V AC, 50Hz).
- The charger will automatically detect the battery voltage (6V or 12V) and begin the charging process.
- Monitor the charging indicator lights (if present on your model) to observe the charging status.
- The charger will automatically switch to maintenance mode once the battery is fully charged, preventing overcharging.
- To disconnect, first unplug the charger from the AC power outlet.
- Then, disconnect the black (-) clamp from the battery (or chassis).
- Finally, disconnect the red (+) clamp from the battery.
6. Maintenance
- Keep the charger clean and dry. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth if necessary. Do not use solvents.
- Inspect cables and clamps for damage before each use. Do not use if cables are frayed or clamps are corroded.
- Store the charger in a cool, dry place when not in use.
- Ensure the charger's ventilation openings are clear of obstructions.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Charger not turning on. | No AC power; poor connection to battery; battery voltage too low. | Check wall outlet; ensure clamps are securely connected; battery may be too deeply discharged to be recognized (consult a professional). |
| Charging process is slow. | Battery is large; battery is deeply discharged; ambient temperature is low. | This is normal for large or deeply discharged batteries. Ensure charger is in a suitable environment. |
| Charger gets warm. | Normal operation during charging. | This is normal. Ensure adequate ventilation around the charger. If it becomes excessively hot or emits smoke, disconnect immediately. |
| Error indicator light is on. | Reverse polarity; short circuit; internal fault. | Check battery connections for correct polarity; inspect cables for damage. If problem persists, discontinue use and contact support. |
