Introduction
Thank you for choosing the EPAuto 3/8-Inch Drive Click Torque Wrench. This precision tool is designed for accurate torque application, ensuring proper fastening of bolts and nuts. It features a durable chrome vanadium steel alloy construction, a high-contrast dual-range scale, and a reliable 'click' mechanism to indicate when the preset torque value is reached. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure safe and effective operation.
Safety Information
- Precision Tool: Do not use this wrench for extreme operations like breaking loose stuck fasteners.
- Practice First: Before critical applications, try the wrench on a non-critical fastener to familiarize yourself with its operation.
- Operate Slowly: Apply force slowly and steadily. The wrench will produce an audible and tactile 'click' to notify the user when the torque value is reached. Do not continue applying force after the click.
- Listen and Feel: At low torque settings, the 'click' can be subtle. Learn to hear and feel the click.
- Measures in One Direction: This wrench only measures torque in the right-hand (clockwise) direction.
- Storage: Always store the wrench at its lowest torque setting to maintain calibration.
Product Overview
The EPAuto 3/8-Inch Drive Click Torque Wrench is constructed from hardened treated Chrome Vanadium steel alloy (Cr-V) with a satin finish for corrosion resistance. It features a knurled handle for a non-slip grip and a dual-range scale for easy reading in both foot-pounds (ft-lb) and Newton-meters (N-m).

Included Components:
- 1 x 3/8-Inch Drive Click Torque Wrench
- 1 x Sturdy Storage Case
- Accessories (Excluded from this specific model, but generally available): 3/8" to 1/4" drive adapter, 3/8" to 1/2" drive adapter, and 3/8" drive extension bar.
Setup: Setting the Torque Value
- Unlock the Handle: Locate the lock nut at the end of the handle. Turn it counter-clockwise until it loosens.
- Adjust Main Scale: Rotate the knurled handle to align the desired foot-pound (ft-lb) or Newton-meter (N-m) value on the main scale with the vertical line on the wrench body.
- Fine-tune with Micrometer Scale: Continue rotating the handle until the desired increment on the micrometer scale aligns with the vertical line. For example, to set 76 ft-lb, align '70' on the main scale, then rotate the handle until '6' on the micrometer scale aligns with the vertical line.
- Lock the Handle: Turn the lock nut clockwise until it is tight to secure the set torque value. The wrench is now ready for use.

Figure 3: The dual-range scale allows precise torque setting in both ft-lb and N-m. The knurled handle is used for adjustment.

Operating Instructions
- Attach Socket: Install the appropriate socket or attachment to the square drive of the wrench.
- Apply Torque: Place the socket onto the fastener. Pull the handle smoothly and steadily in a clockwise direction.
- Listen for Click: Continue applying force until you hear and feel a distinct 'click'. This indicates that the preset torque value has been reached. Stop applying force immediately.
- Release: The wrench head features an easy release design for quick socket changes.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Keep the wrench clean and dry. Do not use any type of cleaner or liquid. Simply wipe it with a dry, clean cloth.
- Storage: Always store the torque wrench at its lowest setting (10 ft-lb / 13.6 N-m) when not in use. This helps maintain the calibration and prolong the life of the internal components.
- Lubrication: Operate the wrench several times at a low torque setting after extended periods of non-use. This action permits special internal lubricant to recoat internal components.
Troubleshooting
- No Audible Click: If the click is not heard or felt, ensure the torque setting is correctly locked. Practice on a non-critical fastener to familiarize yourself with the click sensation. Low torque settings may produce a more subtle click.
- Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the wrench is operated slowly and steadily. Rapid or jerky movements can affect accuracy. Always store the wrench at its lowest setting to preserve calibration.
- Stuck Fastener: Do not use the torque wrench to break loose stuck fasteners. Use a standard wrench or breaker bar for this purpose.
