Setup
- Battery Installation: The UNITUNE CLIP comes with a pre-installed Lithium Metal battery. If replacement is needed, locate the battery compartment on the side of the unit. Gently open the compartment and insert a new CR2032 battery, ensuring correct polarity (+ side up).

- Attaching the Tuner: The UNITUNE CLIP is designed to attach securely to the headstock of your instrument. Open the clip by pressing the lever and position it firmly on a non-vibrating part of the headstock. Ensure the display is visible and oriented correctly for your viewing angle. The tuner uses vibrations from the instrument to detect pitch.

- Powering On: Press and hold the power button (typically on the side) for a few seconds until the display illuminates. The tuner will automatically enter the last used tuning mode.
Operating
The UNITUNE CLIP offers two primary tuning modes: Chromatic and Strobe. You can switch between these modes and adjust the reference pitch (A4) using the dedicated buttons.
Display Overview

Figure 4: Detailed diagram of the UNITUNE CLIP's display and controls. Key elements include the Main Display for pitch indication, Secondary Display for fine-tuning or mode information, Display Orientation Indicator for screen rotation, Display Mode Button to switch modes, Reference Tone Button for A4 adjustment, and the Power Button.
- Main Display: Shows the note name and pitch deviation.
- Secondary Display: Provides additional information, such as the selected tuning mode or reference pitch.
- Display Orientation Indicator: Allows the screen to automatically rotate for optimal viewing, regardless of how the tuner is clipped.
Tuning Modes
- Chromatic Mode: This mode displays the note name being played and indicates whether it is sharp, flat, or in tune. The central green LEDs indicate perfect pitch, while red LEDs to the left or right show flat or sharp, respectively.

- Strobe Mode: For ultimate precision, the strobe mode provides a highly accurate visual representation of pitch. The rotating patterns on the display will slow down and stop when the note is perfectly in tune. This mode offers ±0.02 cent accuracy.

Adjusting Reference Pitch (A4)
To change the A4 reference pitch (default is 440 Hz), press the "Reference Tone" button. Each press will cycle through available A4 frequencies. This allows you to tune to different standards if required.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the display and body of the tuner. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish or display.
- Battery Replacement: When the display dims or the tuner becomes unresponsive, it's time to replace the battery. Refer to the "Battery Installation" step in the Setup section. Dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations.
- Storage: Store the UNITUNE CLIP in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for an extended period, it is recommended to remove the battery to prevent leakage.
