Introduction

The TC Electronic UNITUNE CLIP is an ultra-precise clip-on tuner designed for musical instruments. It features both strobe and chromatic tuning modes, providing exceptional accuracy with a resolution of ±0.02 cent for the strobe tuner. Setup

  1. Battery Installation: The UNITUNE CLIP comes with a pre-installed Lithium Metal battery. If replacement is needed, locate the battery compartment on the side of the unit. Gently open the compartment and insert a new CR2032 battery, ensuring correct polarity (+ side up).

  2. Attaching the Tuner: The UNITUNE CLIP is designed to attach securely to the headstock of your instrument. Open the clip by pressing the lever and position it firmly on a non-vibrating part of the headstock. Ensure the display is visible and oriented correctly for your viewing angle. The tuner uses vibrations from the instrument to detect pitch.

  3. Powering On: Press and hold the power button (typically on the side) for a few seconds until the display illuminates. The tuner will automatically enter the last used tuning mode.

Operating

The UNITUNE CLIP offers two primary tuning modes: Chromatic and Strobe. You can switch between these modes and adjust the reference pitch (A4) using the dedicated buttons.

Tuning Modes

Adjusting Reference Pitch (A4)

To change the A4 reference pitch (default is 440 Hz), press the "Reference Tone" button. Each press will cycle through available A4 frequencies. This allows you to tune to different standards if required.
