6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your camera, refer to the following common solutions:
6.1. Connection Issues
- Camera Offline:
- Ensure the camera is powered on and the power adapter is securely connected.
- Verify your WiFi network is active and the camera is within range.
- Confirm your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz WiFi signal, as the camera primarily uses this frequency for initial setup and operation.
- Try restarting the camera and your router.
- Failed to Add Camera:
- Ensure your smartphone is connected to the same 2.4GHz WiFi network as the camera during setup.
- Double-check the WiFi password entered in the app.
- Try connecting the camera via LAN cable for initial setup if WiFi connection fails.
6.2. Recording and Playback Issues
- No Recordings:
- Check if a Micro SD card is properly installed and formatted (FAT32).
- Ensure motion detection or continuous recording settings are enabled in the app.
- Verify the SD card is not full. If it is, loop recording should overwrite old footage, but a reformat might be needed.
- Poor Video Quality:
- Ensure the camera lens is clean.
- Check your network bandwidth. A weak WiFi signal can affect streaming quality.
- Adjust video resolution settings in the app if available.
6.3. Email Alarm Issues
- No Email Alerts:
- Ensure motion detection is enabled and configured correctly.
- Verify email settings in the app. Note that some users have reported better compatibility with Yahoo email accounts for alerts.
- Check your spam/junk folder for alert emails.
