Eva-Dry EDV-365 Air-Dry Cylinder Instruction Manual

Renewable Moisture Absorber for Small Spaces

1. Product Overview

The Eva-Dry EDV-365 Air-Dry Cylinder is a powerful, renewable moisture absorber designed to control humidity in small, enclosed areas. Utilizing advanced silica gel technology, it silently absorbs moisture without requiring power during operation. The cylinder features a color-changing indicator to show when renewal is needed, and it can be quickly renewed using the Eva-Dry blower base (sold separately).

  • Renewable Design: Absorbs moisture efficiently and can be renewed using the Eva-Dry blower base (sold separately), providing continuous moisture control without power consumption. No batteries or cords needed for dehumidification.
  • Non-Toxic, Safe & Spill-Proof: Made with silica gel, it is non-toxic, safe for use around children and pets, and features a spill-proof design.
  • Ideal for Small Spaces: Effective in areas up to 400 cubic feet (approximately 44 sq. ft.), such as closets, gun safes, drawers, and other enclosed spaces.
  • Fast Renewal Cycle: Renews in approximately 2 hours when placed on the Eva-Dry blower base (sold separately).
  • Long-Lasting: Renewable for up to 10 years, reducing waste and offering a cost-effective solution.

2. Setup

Upon removing the Eva-Dry Air-Dry Cylinder from its packaging, it is immediately active and ready to absorb moisture. Before its first use, verify the status of the indicator beads located on the top of the unit.

  • Check Indicator Beads: Look into the indicator window on the top of the cylinder.
  • Orange Beads: If the beads are orange, the unit is dry and ready to begin dehumidifying.
  • Green Beads: If the beads are green, some moisture was absorbed during packaging or storage. The unit will need to be renewed before its first use to ensure maximum efficiency. Refer to the "Renewal Process" section for instructions.

3. Operating Instructions

The Eva-Dry EDV-365 Air-Dry Cylinder operates silently by absorbing moisture from the air using its advanced silica gel. No power is required for the dehumidification process itself.

  • Placement: Place the cylinder in the desired small, enclosed space where moisture control is needed. Ensure it is not obstructed to allow for proper air circulation.
  • Monitoring: Periodically check the indicator window on the top of the unit.
  • Orange (Dry): The unit is actively absorbing moisture.
  • Green (Wet/Saturated): The unit has absorbed its maximum capacity of moisture and needs to be renewed.

4. Renewal Process

When the indicator beads turn green, the Eva-Dry Air-Dry Cylinder is saturated and requires renewal. This process reactivates the silica gel, allowing it to absorb moisture again.

  1. Prepare for Renewal: Remove the saturated cylinder from its operating location.
  2. Place on Blower Base: Place the cylinder onto the Eva-Dry blower base (sold separately). Ensure it is seated correctly.
  3. Activate Blower Base: Plug in the blower base and turn on the switch located on the back. The base will begin to blow warm air through the cylinder.
  4. Monitor Renewal: The indicator beads will gradually change from green back to orange. The renewal process typically takes approximately 2 hours.
  5. Completion: Once all beads have returned to an orange color, the renewal process is complete. Turn off the blower base and unplug it. The cylinder is now ready for reuse.

Important Note:

Perform the renewal process in a well-ventilated area, such as a bathroom with an exhaust fan, a garage, or an outdoor patio. This is because the renewal process releases the trapped moisture back into the air, and renewing it in the same space you are trying to dehumidify would counteract its purpose.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance of your Eva-Dry blower base ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  • Cleaning the Blower Base: The blower base pulls air in through a ventilation fan on the bottom, which can collect dust over time. Use the provided cleaning brush to gently clear any accumulated dust from the fan area. This helps maintain efficient airflow for renewal.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Eva-Dry EDV-365 Air-Dry Cylinder, consider the following common solutions:

  • No Moisture Absorption: Check the indicator beads on top of the cylinder. If they are green, the unit is saturated and needs to be renewed. Ensure the cylinder is placed in an area with adequate air circulation.
  • Slow Absorption/Frequent Renewal: This may indicate a higher humidity level than anticipated in the space, or the space might be larger than the recommended 400 cubic feet. Consider using multiple cylinders or a larger capacity dehumidifier for bigger areas.
  • Blower Base Not Working: Ensure the blower base is securely plugged into a working power outlet and the power switch is in the "on" position. Check for any obstructions in the fan area and clean if necessary.
