Care and Maintenance
Cleaning
- Always unplug the coffee machine and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Removable Parts: The filter holder, insulated carafe, to-go mug, and their lids can be washed by hand with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These parts are generally not dishwasher safe unless specified in the full manual.
- Main Unit: Wipe the exterior of the coffee machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Never immerse the main unit in water.
- Drip Tray: Regularly empty and clean the drip tray to prevent overflow and maintain hygiene.
Descaling
Regular descaling is crucial to maintain the performance and lifespan of your coffee machine, especially in areas with hard water. The machine features a descaling program and water hardness setting.
- The display may show a descaling symbol (often a water drop or 'Calc') when descaling is required.
- Use a suitable descaling solution specifically designed for coffee machines. Follow the instructions provided with the descaling agent.
- Typically, you will fill the water tank with the descaling solution and run a special descaling cycle.
- After descaling, run several cycles with fresh water to rinse the machine thoroughly before brewing coffee again.
- Refer to the complete instruction manual for detailed steps on activating the descaling program and adjusting water hardness settings.
