LoraTap Wireless Light Switch Kit with RF 868MHz Relay Receiver

Model: B075RGNFR1

Introduction

Thank you for choosing the LoraTap Wireless Light Switch Kit. This kit provides a convenient and flexible solution for controlling your lighting and other electrical appliances wirelessly. It consists of a wireless remote control and an RF 868MHz relay receiver, designed for easy installation and reliable operation without the need for complex wiring or apps.

This manual will guide you through the installation, operation, and maintenance of your new wireless light switch kit. Please read it carefully before use and keep it for future reference.

Product Features

  • Extended Range: Operates effectively up to 30-60 meters indoors and up to 200 meters outdoors, providing control in hard-to-reach areas without wall damage.
  • Magnetic Remote Control: The remote control features a magnetic holder, allowing it to be conveniently placed on a wall or carried with you.
  • Broad Compatibility: Compatible with various light types including LED, fluorescent, CFL, incandescent, tungsten, and halogen lamps.
  • Interference-Free Operation: Each remote control has a unique ID, ensuring it only controls its paired receiver, allowing multiple kits to be used in one area without interference.
  • Simple Installation: The receiver is installed between the power source and the lamp, requiring only a neutral wire connection. No additional relay or app is needed.

Setup and Installation

Safety First: Before beginning any electrical installation, ensure the main power supply is turned off at the circuit breaker to prevent electric shock.

  1. Identify Wiring: Locate the power source and the lamp you wish to control. Ensure both a live (L) and neutral (N) wire are available at the installation point for the receiver.
  2. Connect the Receiver:
    • Connect the live wire from the power source to the 'L in' terminal on the receiver.
    • Connect the neutral wire from the power source to the 'N in' terminal on the receiver.
    • Connect the live wire leading to the lamp to the 'L out' terminal on the receiver.
    • Connect the neutral wire leading to the lamp to the 'N out' terminal on the receiver.

Note: The receiver requires a neutral wire connection for proper operation.

It shows the receiver connected between a power input (L and N) and a lamp/load (L and N), with clear labels for each connection point. A person is shown installing the receiver into a ceiling fixture.

  3. Mount the Receiver: Once wired, secure the receiver in a suitable location, such as inside a junction box or ceiling fixture, ensuring it is not exposed.
  4. Pairing the Remote Control: The remote control and receiver are typically pre-paired from the factory. If re-pairing is needed, refer to the 'Operating Instructions' section.
  5. Restore Power: After all connections are secure and the receiver is mounted, restore power at the circuit breaker.

Important Precaution: This device does not support connection to traditional wall switches or dimming switches. Do not attempt to connect it to these types of controls.

Pairing / Re-pairing Instructions

If your remote control and receiver are not paired or you wish to pair a new remote:

  1. Ensure the receiver is powered on.
  2. Press and hold the pairing button on the receiver (usually a small button or switch) until an indicator light flashes (refer to receiver for specific indicator behavior).
  3. Within a few seconds, press the 'ON' button on the remote control. The indicator light on the receiver should stop flashing, confirming successful pairing.
  4. Test the remote control to ensure it operates the connected light/appliance.

Memory Function

The light module is equipped with a memory function. If power is interrupted and then restored, the light will return to its last known state (ON or OFF) before the power outage.

Image Description: A three-panel image demonstrating the memory function. The first panel shows a light on ('Before power off'), the second shows it off ('After power off'), and the third shows it returning to the 'on' state after power is restored ('After power restoration'), indicating it remembers its previous state.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To clean the remote control or receiver, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or wet cloths, as these can damage the device or cause electrical hazards.

Battery Replacement (Remote Control)

The remote control is powered by a Panasonic CR2032 Lithium-metal battery, which has an estimated lifespan of 10 years. When the remote's range decreases or it becomes unresponsive, it may be time to replace the battery.

  1. Carefully open the remote control casing (refer to the remote's design for specific opening method, usually a small notch or screw).
  2. Remove the old CR2032 battery.
  3. Insert a new CR2032 battery, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the remote control casing securely.

Troubleshooting

  • Device not responding:
    • Check if the receiver is properly powered.
    • Ensure the remote control battery is not depleted. Replace if necessary.
    • Re-pair the remote control with the receiver as described in the 'Operating Instructions' section.
    • Ensure the remote is within the operating range of the receiver.
  • Interference with other devices:
    • The LoraTap system uses unique IDs to prevent interference. If you experience issues, ensure no other RF devices are operating on the same frequency or that they are sufficiently separated.
  • Light flickers or does not turn on/off correctly:
    • Verify all wiring connections to the receiver are secure and correct (Live to L, Neutral to N).
    • Ensure the connected lamp/appliance is within the maximum load capacity (10A, 2500W).
    • Confirm the lamp itself is functional.
