3.3 First Use Preparation
Before ironing clothes for the first time, it is recommended to iron an old piece of fabric to remove any manufacturing residues from the soleplate. This may produce a slight odor or small flakes, which is normal and will disappear after a few uses.
4. Operating the Iron
4.1 Powering On and Heating
- Place the iron on its heel on a stable surface.
- Plug the mains cord into a grounded wall socket. The 'iron ready' light will start blinking slowly, indicating the iron is heating up.
- When the 'iron ready' light stops blinking and stays on, the iron is ready for use. This typically takes about 2 minutes.

4.2 OptimalTEMP Technology
With OptimalTEMP technology, you do not need to pre-sort your laundry or adjust the temperature. You can iron any ironable fabric, from delicate silk to tough denim, without the risk of burning. Simply start ironing.
4.3 Using Steam Functions
- Continuous Steam: The iron automatically produces steam when it is moved horizontally. The DynamiQ sensor detects the iron's movement and releases steam accordingly.
- MAX Setting: For very stubborn creases, press the 'MAX' button (if available on your model) to activate maximum continuous steam. This setting is particularly effective on tough fabrics like cotton, jeans, and linen.
- Steam Boost: For an extra burst of steam, press the steam boost trigger, usually located under the handle. This is useful for removing deep creases.
- Vertical Steaming: Hold the iron vertically and press the steam boost trigger to remove creases from hanging garments, curtains, or delicate items.
- Spray Function: Press the spray button to lightly moisten fabric, which can help in smoothing out creases.

4.4 Automatic Shut-off
For safety and energy saving, the iron automatically switches off if it is left motionless for a certain period:
- After 30 seconds if left on its soleplate or side.
- After 8 minutes if left on its heel.
To switch the iron on again, simply pick it up or move it slightly. The 'iron ready' light will blink and then stay on when it's ready.
5. Maintenance and Cleaning
5.1 Quick Calc Release
The Quick Calc Release system helps to maintain optimal steam performance and prolong the life of your iron by collecting loose scale particles. It is recommended to use this function regularly, especially if you use tap water.
- Ensure the iron is unplugged and has cooled down completely (at least 1 hour).
- Hold the iron over a sink.
- Pull the Quick Calc Release collector out of the back of the iron.
- Rinse the collector under running water to remove scale particles.
- Wipe the collector dry and push it back into the iron until it clicks into place.
5.2 Cleaning the Soleplate
- To clean the soleplate, use a damp cloth and a non-abrasive (liquid) cleaner.
- Never use scouring pads, vinegar, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the soleplate.
- For stubborn stains, you can use a specialized soleplate cleaning stick (available separately).
5.3 Emptying and Storing
- After each use, unplug the iron and allow it to cool down completely.
- Empty any remaining water from the tank to prevent limescale buildup and leakage.
- Store the iron on its heel in a dry, safe place, away from children.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Iron does not heat up. | Not plugged in, power outage, or automatic shut-off activated. | Check power connection. Move the iron to reactivate if auto shut-off is active. |
| No steam or insufficient steam. | Water tank empty, iron not hot enough, or calc buildup. | Fill water tank. Wait for 'iron ready' light to be solid. Perform Quick Calc Release. |
| Water leaks from the soleplate. | Iron not hot enough for steam, or overfilled water tank. | Wait until the 'iron ready' light is solid. Do not overfill the water tank. |
| Soleplate is dirty or sticky. | Residue from fabrics or starch. | Clean the soleplate with a damp cloth and non-abrasive cleaner after the iron has cooled. |
