Descaling (Monthly or as needed):
Mineral deposits from water can affect performance. Descale your coffee maker regularly:
- Prepare Solution: Fill the water tank with a mixture of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts water.
- Start Cycle: Place a large mug on the drip tray. Close the lid (without a K-cup). Press the brew button to start a cycle.
- Pause and Soak: Once about half of the solution has brewed, press the brew button again to stop the cycle. Let the machine sit for 30 minutes to allow the vinegar to work.
- Complete Cycle: After 30 minutes, press the brew button to complete the brewing cycle. Discard the solution.
- Rinse Cycles: Fill the water tank with fresh, clean water. Run 2-3 full brewing cycles with only water to rinse out any remaining vinegar taste.
