2. Important Safety Instructions
- Power Source: Use only the specified power adapter or batteries. Ensure the voltage matches the requirements of the unit.
- Water and Moisture: Do not expose the unit to rain, moisture, or dripping/splashing liquids. Keep away from water sources.
- Ventilation: Do not block any ventilation openings. Ensure adequate space around the unit for proper airflow.
- Heat: Do not place the unit near heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
- Cleaning: Clean only with a dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners.

Control Panel (Top View)
- Play/Pause Button: Starts or pauses CD/USB playback.
- Stop Button: Stops CD/USB playback.
- Skip/Search Buttons (◀◀ / ▶▶): Skips tracks or searches within a track.
- CD/USB/Radio Selector: Switches between playback modes.

5. Setup
5.1 Powering the Unit
The Muse M-23 KDG can be powered by either AC mains power or batteries.
AC Power Operation
- Ensure the unit is switched off.
- Connect the supplied AC power cord to the AC power input jack on the unit.
- Plug the other end of the AC power cord into a standard wall outlet.
Battery Operation
For portable use, the unit requires 6 x R14 (C size) batteries (not included).
- Ensure the unit is switched off and disconnected from AC power.
- Open the battery compartment cover located on the bottom of the unit.
- Insert 6 x R14 (C size) batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Note: Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage and damage.
6. Operating the CD Player
- Press the CD/USB/Radio Selector button to select CD mode.
- Open the CD compartment cover by gently lifting it.
- Place a CD (CD-R/RW or MP3 CD) onto the spindle with the label side facing up.
- Close the CD compartment cover firmly.
- Press the Play/Pause button (▶/██) to start playback. The track number and elapsed time will appear on the LCD display.
- To pause playback, press the Play/Pause button (▶/██). Press again to resume.
- To stop playback, press the Stop button (██).
- To skip to the next track, press the Skip/Search Forward button (▶▶).
- To go back to the beginning of the current track or to the previous track, press the Skip/Search Backward button (◀◀).
- To search quickly within a track, press and hold the Skip/Search Forward (▶▶) or Skip/Search Backward (◀◀) button during playback.
6.1 Programming CD Tracks
- In CD stop mode, press the Program button. 'P01' will flash on the display.
- Use the Skip/Search buttons (◀◀ / ▶▶) to select the desired track.
- Press the Program button again to confirm the track. 'P02' will flash.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 to program up to 20 tracks.
- After programming, press the Play/Pause button (▶/██) to play the programmed sequence.
7. Operating the USB Player
The unit supports MP3 audio files from a USB flash drive.
- Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port on the side of the unit.
- Press the CD/USB/Radio Selector button to select USB mode.
- The unit will automatically scan and begin playing MP3 files.
- Use the Play/Pause, Stop, and Skip/Search buttons as described in the CD operation section to control playback.
Note: Compatibility with all USB devices is not guaranteed. Ensure your USB drive is formatted to FAT32.
8. Operating the Radio (FM/MW)
- Press the CD/USB/Radio Selector button to select Radio mode.
- Extend the telescopic antenna for optimal FM reception. For MW reception, rotate the unit for best signal.
- Use the Tuning Knob (if present, or Skip/Search buttons for digital tuning) to tune to your desired radio station. The frequency will be displayed on the LCD.
- Adjust the volume using the Volume Control knob.
9. Operating the AUX-In Function
The AUX-In jack allows you to connect external audio devices such as MP3 players or smartphones.
- Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable (not supplied) to the AUX-In jack on the unit.
- Connect the other end of the audio cable to the headphone jack or audio output of your external device.
- Press the CD/USB/Radio Selector button to select AUX mode (if available, otherwise ensure no other source is playing).
- Start playback on your external device.
- Adjust the volume using the volume control on both the Muse M-23 KDG and your external device.
10. Maintenance
10.1 Cleaning the Unit
- Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish.
- For stubborn stains, use a cloth lightly dampened with mild soapy water, then wipe dry immediately.
10.2 Cleaning the CD Lens
A dirty CD lens can cause skipping or playback errors. Use a commercially available CD lens cleaner disc to clean the lens.
