Operating Instructions
To turn the flashlight on or off, press the button on the tail cap. For optimal results, use the flashlight in a dark environment.
1. Pet Urine Detection
The Vansky blacklight flashlight is highly effective for locating dried pet urine stains on carpets, rugs, and upholstery. These stains contain phosphors that glow under UV light.
- Ensure the area is completely dark for best visibility.
- Scan the suspected area slowly with the UV light. Dried urine stains will fluoresce with a distinct yellowish-green glow.
- Note: This flashlight detects dried urine. Wet urine or fresh liquid stains will not fluoresce effectively. Allow stains to dry completely before inspection.

- Before moving into new rentals or checking into hotels, use the flashlight to inspect hygiene blind spots like bedding, toilets, and sinks.
- In your home, reveal hidden dirt in hard-to-reach areas for a deeper clean.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the flashlight body with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse in water.
- Battery Removal: If the flashlight will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and corrosion.
- Storage: Store the flashlight in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
Flashlight Does Not Turn On
- Check battery orientation: Ensure AAA batteries are inserted correctly into the battery holder with the correct polarity (+/-).
- Check battery holder orientation: Verify the battery holder is inserted into the flashlight body with the arrow pointing inwards.
- Replace batteries: If batteries are old or depleted, replace them with new ones.
- Tighten connections: Ensure the tail cap is screwed on tightly.
Cannot Detect Pet Urine Stains
- Dry Stains Only: The UV light is designed to detect dried pet urine. Fresh or wet urine will not fluoresce effectively. Allow stains to dry completely.
- Dark Environment: Ensure the inspection area is as dark as possible. Ambient light significantly reduces visibility of fluorescence.
- Carpet Material: Some dark-colored carpets or those with optical brighteners may reflect UV light differently, making stains harder to see.
- Cat Urine Variation: In rare cases, cat urine with very low phosphorus content (due to diet) may not fluoresce as strongly.
