3. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to properly set up your Antminer D3:
- Power Supply Connection: Ensure you have a compatible power supply unit (PSU), such as the Bitmain APW3++. Connect the AC cable to the PSU adapter input.
- Hashing Board Connections: All PCIe connectors on each hashing board must be connected to the PSU. Warning: Do not connect more than one PSU to the same hashing board.
- Control Board Connection: Locate the additional 6-pin PCIe connector on the I/O board and connect it to the PSU.
- Power On Sequence: Only power on the miner after all PCIe connectors (for both hashing boards and the control board) are securely connected to the power supply.

4. Operation
Once the Antminer D3 is properly connected to power, it will initiate. The device operates using the X11 hashing algorithm to mine compatible cryptocurrencies such as Dash. Configuration details for mining pools and network settings are typically accessed via a web interface once the device is powered on and connected to your network. Refer to the specific software documentation for detailed configuration steps.
5. Maintenance
- Dust Removal: Regularly clean the fans and heatsinks to prevent dust buildup, which can impede airflow and lead to overheating. Use compressed air or a soft brush.
- Environmental Control: Operate the miner in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated environment to maintain optimal operating temperatures and efficiency.
- Cable Inspection: Periodically inspect all power and data cables for any signs of wear or damage. Replace any compromised cables immediately.
6. Troubleshooting
- Miner Not Powering On: Verify all power cables are securely connected to the PSU, hashing boards, and control board. Ensure the PSU is receiving power from the wall outlet.
- Low Hash Rate: Check network connectivity and mining pool settings. Ensure the ambient temperature is within the recommended range. Clean any dust from fans and heatsinks.
- Excessive Noise/Heat: This device is known to be very loud. Ensure proper ventilation and that fans are operating correctly. High temperatures can indicate insufficient cooling or dust buildup.
7. Safety Information
- Loud Operation: The Antminer D3 is very loud during operation. Prolonged exposure to high noise levels can be harmful. Consider using hearing protection or placing the miner in a sound-insulated area.
- High Power Consumption: This device requires a 1200W power source. Ensure your electrical infrastructure can safely support this load to prevent electrical hazards.
- Heat Generation: The miner generates significant heat. Ensure adequate ventilation to prevent overheating and potential fire hazards. Do not obstruct air vents.
- Electrical Safety: Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance or inspection. Do not operate the device with damaged cables or components.
