1. Charging and Installing the Battery
- Charge the Battery: Fully charge the 18V 2.0 Ah lithium-ion battery using the provided rapid charger. The charger's LED indicator will show the charging status. A full charge typically takes 45 minutes.
- Install the Battery: Align the battery with the battery port on the tool's handle and slide it in until it clicks securely into place. Ensure it is firmly seated before operation.
2. Loading Fasteners
The PE2118G features a 2-in-1 multi-purpose magazine that accepts both 18 gauge brad nails and 18 gauge 1/4" narrow crown staples. Ensure the tool is disconnected from the battery before loading fasteners.
- Brad Nails: Load 18 gauge brad nails (from 3/4" to 2" in length) into the bottom channel of the magazine.
- Narrow Crown Staples: Load 18 gauge 1/4" narrow crown staples (from 3/4" to 1-5/8" in length) into the top channel of the magazine.
- Push the fastener strip fully into the magazine and then push the follower forward until it locks into place, securing the fasteners.

Operating Instructions
1. Selecting Firing Mode
The tool features a select fire switch to choose between two firing modes:
- Single Sequential Firing: For precise fastener placement. The trigger must be released and pressed for each fastener.
- Bump Firing: For rapid fastening. Hold the trigger down and bump the contact trip against the workpiece to drive fasteners.

2. Adjusting Depth
The tool features a tool-free depth adjustment wheel. Simply turn the wheel by hand to change the driving depth of nails and staples, allowing for flush driving or countersinking based on the material and application.

3. General Operation
- Ensure the battery is charged and fasteners are loaded correctly.
- Select the desired firing mode (single sequential or bump fire).
- Adjust the depth of drive as needed for your material.
- Place the tool's nose firmly against the workpiece. The No Mar Safety Contact prevents damage to the work surface.
- Press the trigger to drive a fastener.
- The integrated LED work light illuminates the work area for improved visibility.

Maintenance
- Clearing Jams: The easy access nose allows for quick clearing of jammed fasteners. Always disconnect the battery before attempting to clear a jam.

- Storage: Store the tool in its blow-molded case in a dry, secure location when not in use.
Troubleshooting
The LED indicator light on the tool provides important status warnings:

- LED Red: Indicates low battery. Recharge the battery.
- LED Green Flashing: Indicates overheating. Allow the tool to cool down before resuming operation.
- LED Green: Indicates an empty magazine (no nails/staples). Reload fasteners.
