4. Setup and Installation

Before you begin, ensure your door thickness is between 1-3/8 inches and 2-3/8 inches. Basic tools required include a Phillips head screwdriver, tape measure, and pencil.

1. Prepare the Door: If replacing an existing lock, remove the old hardware. Ensure the door has standard bore holes for a deadlatch lock.
2. Install the Deadlatch Bolt: Insert the deadlatch bolt into the edge bore hole of the door, ensuring the angled side of the bolt faces the door frame. Secure it with the provided screws.
3. Install the Exterior Lock Body: Place the exterior lock body (with the key cylinder) onto the door, aligning the spindle with the deadlatch bolt mechanism.
4. Install the Interior Thumb-Turn Mechanism: Position the interior thumb-turn mechanism on the inside of the door, aligning it with the exterior lock body and the deadlatch bolt.

5. Operating Instructions

• To Lock from Exterior: Insert the key into the key cylinder and turn it clockwise until the deadlatch bolt extends fully into the strike plate. Remove the key.
• To Unlock from Exterior: Insert the key into the key cylinder and turn it counter-clockwise until the deadlatch bolt retracts fully. Open the door.
• To Lock from Interior: Turn the thumb-turn knob on the interior mechanism clockwise until the deadlatch bolt extends fully.
• To Unlock from Interior: Turn the thumb-turn knob on the interior mechanism counter-clockwise until the deadlatch bolt retracts fully.

The deadlatch mechanism is designed to prevent accidental lockout. Ensure the door is properly closed for the deadlatch to engage securely.

• Cleaning: Clean the lock's exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the satin nickel finish. The scratch-resistant finish helps maintain its appearance.
