Your MPC Complete Remote Start System includes the following components:

2. Important Considerations Before Installation

2.1 Vehicle Compatibility

This kit is specifically designed for Ford Mustang models manufactured between 2005 and 2007 with an automatic transmission and a key-to-start ignition system.

Critical Requirement: Installation requires two (2) original factory keys to program the key code to the module. Cloned or copied keys will not function for this programming step.

3. Installation Guide

3.1 DIY Installation Requirements

The installation of this product requires a basic understanding of automotive electrical systems and standard wiring connections. This is not a plug-and-play installation. We provide detailed directions, including specific wire colors and locations for your vehicle. However, this process is not recommended for novice installers.

The included data module temporarily overrides the vehicle's immobilizer system only during remote start operation.

3.2 Accessing Installation Instructions

Detailed, up-to-date installation instructions are provided via a QR code included with your kit. These digital instructions offer the most current information and visual aids.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Remote Control Functions

Your system includes two 5-button 1-way remote controls. Refer to the specific button layout provided in your digital instructions for exact functionality. Common functions include:

  • Remote Start: Press the designated button (e.g., start button) to remotely start your vehicle.
  • Lock Doors: Press the lock button to secure your vehicle.
  • Unlock Doors: Press the unlock button to open your vehicle doors.
  • Trunk/Hatch Release: Press and hold the trunk release button to open the trunk or hatch.

4.2 Programmable Settings

The system offers customizable settings to suit your preferences:

  • Auto-Start Mode: Configure the system to automatically start the engine every 2, 3, or 4 hours. This feature is useful in extreme weather conditions to maintain cabin temperature or battery charge.
  • Engine Run Time: Adjust the duration the engine will run after a remote start to 5, 10, 20, or 30 minutes.

5. Optional Features

5.1 Smartphone App Interface

An optional smartphone app interface module is available separately. This module allows you to control your remote start system directly from your smartphone, offering extended range and additional features. Please note that shipping for this module is limited to the continental U.S.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Common Issues and Solutions

  • Door Lock Malfunction: If the remote door lock/unlock feature is not working correctly, it is crucial to verify all wiring connections. Incorrect identification or connection of vehicle wiring for door locks can lead to system malfunction. Consult your vehicle's specific wiring diagram and cross-reference with the provided MPC instructions.
  • Remote Start Failure: Ensure your vehicle's battery is adequately charged. Confirm that the hood is closed, and the parking brake is engaged (if required by your vehicle's setup). Check all primary power and ground connections.
  • Module Not Programming: Confirm that you are using two original factory keys for the programming process. Cloned or copied keys will not be recognized by the system for this step.
  • General Electrical Issues: Always ensure all connections are secure, properly crimped, and insulated to prevent short circuits or intermittent functionality.

8. Warranty and Support

8.1 Product Warranty

MPC remote starters and alarms carry a limited lifetime warranty through the manufacturer. This warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials for a period of one year from the date of purchase for the original purchaser, provided the product is installed correctly and used under normal conditions. Physical damage or damage resulting from improper installation, abuse, operation inconsistent with the product's design, or exposure to elements will void the manufacturer's warranty.

For warranty issues within the first year, please contact MPC directly. The product must be returned at the customer's expense for warranty service. After the first year, warranty issues must be handled directly through the manufacturer, requiring a receipt from the original purchase. MPC is not liable for installation charges or any loss or damage incurred during replacement or repair of a warranted product.
