Model: XA10 (LK272)

Introduction

The Oxford XA10 Disc Lock is a high-security anti-theft device designed for motorcycles. It features an integrated 110dB alarm, a robust 10mm locking pin, and a compact, durable construction to deter theft and protect your vehicle. This manual provides essential information for the correct setup, operation, and maintenance of your disc lock.

Safety Information

  • Always ensure the disc lock is securely fitted to your motorcycle's brake disc before leaving it unattended.
  • Use the provided reminder cable to prevent accidental riding with the lock engaged. Attach one end to the lock and the other to your handlebar.
  • Keep all keys in a safe place, separate from your motorcycle.
  • The alarm emits a loud 110dB sound; avoid prolonged exposure to prevent hearing damage.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the disc lock, as this may compromise its security features and void the warranty.

Setup

Initial Battery Charge

Before first use, fully charge the disc lock battery. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the charging port on the lock and to a suitable USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter). The charging indicator light will illuminate during charging and change color or turn off when charging is complete. A full charge typically takes a few hours.

Operating Instructions

Arming the Disc Lock

  1. Select a suitable hole on your motorcycle's brake disc that the 10mm locking pin can pass through.
  2. Insert the 10mm locking pin through the chosen hole in the brake disc.
  3. Push the main body of the disc lock firmly onto the locking pin until it clicks into place.
  4. Listen for the confirmation beep(s):
    • A single beep indicates the lock is armed without the alarm activated.
    • A double beep indicates the lock is armed with the 110dB alarm activated.
Ensure you hear the correct beep sequence for your desired security mode.
  5. Attach the reminder cable to the disc lock's eyelet and your motorcycle's handlebar to prevent accidental riding with the lock engaged.

Disarming the Disc Lock

To disarm the disc lock, insert the key into the lock cylinder and turn it. The lock will release, and the alarm (if active) will cease. Remove the lock from the brake disc.

Alarm Function

When the alarm is active, the integrated motion and shock sensors will detect tampering or movement of the motorcycle. If triggered, the 110dB alarm will sound for a short period to deter potential thieves. The alarm will automatically reset and re-arm after a few seconds if no further movement is detected.

Maintenance

Battery Charging

Regularly check the battery level. Recharge the disc lock approximately every three months, or when you notice a change in alarm volume or indicator light behavior, using the provided USB charging cable. Do not use unauthorized chargers.

Cleaning and Lubrication

  • Keep the lock mechanism clean and free from dirt, dust, and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning the exterior. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Periodically apply a small amount of lock lubricant (e.g., graphite-based or silicone-free spray) to the keyway and locking pin to ensure smooth operation and prevent corrosion.

Troubleshooting

Alarm Not Activating/Deactivating Correctly

If the alarm does not activate or deactivate as expected, ensure the locking pin is fully engaged and you hear the correct beep confirmation. Check the battery level and recharge if necessary. If issues persist, ensure the lock is clean and free of obstructions.

Lock Mechanism Stiff or Difficult to Operate

If the lock mechanism feels stiff or the key is difficult to turn, apply a small amount of lock lubricant to the keyway and work the key in and out several times. Ensure the lock is clean and free from debris.

Lost Keys

The product includes a unique code on a small tag. Keep this code in a safe place, separate from your keys. This code is essential for requesting duplicate keys from Oxford Products or an authorized dealer.
