5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the meter.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert a 9V Alkaline battery, ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.2 Sensor Connection

  1. Identify the sensor input port on the top or side of the main unit.
  2. Connect the desired vibration probe (standard or magnetic) to the sensor input port. Ensure a firm and secure connection.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

Press the ON/MEAS button to power on the device. The meter will automatically turn off after 60 seconds of inactivity to conserve battery life. To manually turn off, press and hold the ON/MEAS button.

6.2 Measurement Mode Selection

Press the A/V/D button to cycle through the measurement modes: Acceleration (m/s²), Velocity (mm/s), and Displacement (mm). The selected mode will be indicated on the LCD display.

6.3 Frequency Range Selection

Press the HI/LO button to switch between high and low frequency measurement ranges, as required by your application.

6.4 Maximum Value Hold

Press the MAX button to hold the maximum measured value on the display. Press it again to exit this function.

6.5 Temperature Unit Selection

Press the °C/°F button to toggle the temperature display between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

6.6 Taking Measurements

  1. Ensure the correct probe is attached and the meter is powered on.
  2. Select the desired measurement mode (Acceleration, Velocity, or Displacement) and frequency range (Hi/Lo).
  3. Firmly place the tip of the probe against the surface of the object to be measured.
  4. The measurement will be displayed on the LCD screen.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

Wipe the meter and probes with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the device.

7.2 Storage

When not in use, store the Benetech GM63B Vibration Meter and its accessories in the provided protective carrying case. Store in a dry environment, away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.

7.3 Battery Replacement

When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the 9V battery promptly to ensure accurate measurements and proper device function. Refer to section 5.1 for battery installation instructions.
