Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and inspect the machine for any damage. Retain packaging for future storage or shipping.
- Placement: Place the popcorn machine on a sturdy, flat, and dry surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit.
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wipe down all surfaces, including the kettle, with a damp cloth. Dry thoroughly.
- Power Connection: Plug the machine into a grounded 120V AC outlet.
Operating Instructions
- Preheat Kettle: Turn on the "Kettle Heat" switch. Allow the kettle to preheat for 3-5 minutes.
- Add Oil: Carefully add 1/3 cup of popcorn oil to the preheated kettle.
- Add Kernels: Add 8 oz. (approximately 1 cup) of popcorn kernels to the kettle.
- Start Popping: Turn on the "Stirrer" switch. The stirrer will rotate to ensure even coating of kernels.
- Monitor Popping: Popcorn will begin to pop within a few minutes. Once popping slows significantly (2-3 seconds between pops), turn off the "Kettle Heat" and "Stirrer" switches.
- Empty Kettle: Carefully tilt the kettle to empty the popped corn into the cabinet.
- Serve: Use a popcorn scoop to serve the fresh popcorn. The warming deck will keep the popcorn warm.
- Repeat: For additional batches, repeat steps 1-7. Allow a few minutes between batches for the kettle to reheat.
Note: The machine is designed to pop 8 ounces of kernels at a time. Do not overfill the kettle.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your popcorn machine.
- Unplug and Cool: Always unplug the machine and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Remove Crumb Tray: Slide out the crumb tray and discard any unpopped kernels or debris. Wash the tray with warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly.
- Clean Kettle: For best results, clean the kettle while it is still slightly warm (but not hot). Wipe the inside and outside of the kettle with a damp cloth. For stubborn residue, a mild detergent can be used. Rinse thoroughly with a clean, damp cloth to remove all soap residue. Do not immerse the kettle in water.
- Clean Cabinet: Wipe down the interior and exterior of the cabinet, including glass panels, with a damp cloth and mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Dry with a soft cloth to prevent streaks.
- Storage: Store the popcorn machine in a clean, dry place when not in use.
