- Turn off Power: Before starting, ensure the power supply to the installation area is turned off at the circuit breaker.
- Prepare Wiring: Carefully strip the ends of the electrical wires from the post and the fixture, exposing approximately 3/4 inch of copper wire.
- Connect Wires:
- Connect the black wire from the fixture to the black (hot) wire from the power supply using a wire nut.
- Connect the white wire from the fixture to the white (neutral) wire from the power supply using a wire nut.
- Connect the green or bare copper ground wire from the fixture to the ground wire from the power supply using a wire nut.
- Mount Fixture: Secure the fixture base to the outdoor post using the provided mounting hardware. Ensure the fixture is stable and level.
- Install Bulb: Insert an E26 medium base bulb (not included) into the socket. Do not exceed the maximum 100-watt rating.

Operating Instructions
The Z-Lite 554PHB-ORB Outdoor Post Light operates via a standard electrical connection. Once installed and powered, the light can be controlled by an external switch (e.g., a wall switch or a photocell/timer if integrated into your electrical system).
- Power On/Off: Use the connected toggle switch or other control method to turn the light fixture on or off.
- Bulb Replacement: To replace the bulb, first turn off the power supply to the fixture. Allow the bulb to cool completely before carefully unscrewing the old bulb and installing a new E26 medium base bulb (max 100W).
Maintenance
Regular maintenance will help preserve the appearance and functionality of your outdoor post light.
- Cleaning: To clean the fixture, ensure power is off. Wipe the metal surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Use a mild glass cleaner for the seedy glass panels, avoiding abrasive cleaners that could scratch the finish.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the wiring and connections for any signs of wear or damage. Ensure all screws and mounting hardware remain tight.
- Bulb Type: Use only E26 medium base bulbs with a maximum wattage of 100W. LED bulbs are recommended for energy efficiency and longer lifespan.
