- Connect Power: Plug the DVR power supply into the "DC12V" input on the rear panel, then plug the power supply into an electrical outlet. The DVR will power on automatically.
2. Initial Setup Wizard
Upon first power-on, the DVR will guide you through an initial setup wizard. Follow the on-screen prompts to configure basic settings such as language, date/time, network settings, and password creation. It is highly recommended to set a strong password for security.
Operating
1. Live View and Recording
After completing the initial setup, the DVR will display the live view from connected cameras. The system is configured to record continuously by default. You can access recording settings via the main menu to adjust recording schedules, motion detection settings, and video quality.
- Recording Resolution: Supports 1080P at 15 frames per second (fps) per channel or 720P at 30 fps per channel.
- PIR Motion Detection: The DVR utilizes Passive Infrared (PIR) technology to detect motion based on heat signatures, significantly reducing false alarms caused by environmental factors like wind or light changes. Configure PIR settings in the DVR menu for each channel.
2. Playback and Backup
Recorded footage can be accessed and played back through the DVR's interface. Use the USB ports to connect a USB flash drive for backing up important video segments.
3. Remote Viewing (Qt View App)
The Q-See Qt View app allows you to connect to your DVR for instant live viewing and playback on compatible smartphones or tablets (Apple/Android mobile devices) and desktop computers (Windows/Mac). Ensure your DVR is connected to the internet via the LAN port and configured for network access.
- Download the "Qt View" app from your device's app store or the Q-See website.
- Follow the in-app instructions to add your DVR using its unique device ID or IP address.
- Enter the DVR's username and password to establish a secure connection.
Maintenance
- Hard Drive Management: The 1TB hard drive will automatically overwrite the oldest footage when full. Regularly back up critical recordings to an external USB drive.
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check the Q-See website for firmware updates for your QTH94-1 DVR. Firmware updates can improve performance, add features, and enhance security. Follow the instructions provided with the firmware update carefully.
- Cleaning: Keep the DVR free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
