1. Introduction

The FrSky Twin X-Lite is a compact and ergonomic dual 2.4G radio system designed for remote control applications. It features the innovative TW active-active protocol, which utilizes dual 2.4G frequency bands simultaneously for enhanced reliability, lower latency, and wider coverage compared to traditional single-antenna systems. This transmitter also supports ACCST D16, ACCESS, and ELRS 2.4G (Compatible) modes, offering broad compatibility with various receivers. The integrated 3.5-inch color touch slide screen and customizable controls provide a versatile user experience.

3. Setup

3.1. Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove the Twin X-Lite transmitter from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage during transit. Ensure all components listed in the product packaging are present.

3.2. Battery Installation and Charging

The Twin X-Lite includes a 2100mAh Li-ion battery. The battery bay is easily accessible for installation or replacement. To charge the battery, connect a Type-C USB cable to the charging port on the transmitter and a suitable USB power source. The charging status will be indicated on the screen.

3.3. Powering On/Off

To power on the transmitter, locate the power button, typically found under the slide screen. Press and hold the power button until the screen illuminates. To power off, press and hold the power button again until the shutdown sequence is complete.

3.4. Screen Operation

The 3.5-inch color touch-screen allows for intuitive navigation of the ETHOS operating system. The screen can be slid upwards to reveal additional controls and the power button. Use touch gestures (tap, swipe) to interact with menus and settings.

3.5. Binding to a Receiver

Refer to the specific receiver's manual for detailed binding procedures. Generally, the process involves putting the receiver into binding mode and then initiating the binding sequence on the Twin X-Lite transmitter through the ETHOS operating system's RF system settings. Ensure both the transmitter and receiver are set to the same RF protocol (e.g., TW Mode, ACCESS, ACCST D16, or ELRS Compatible).

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. RF Protocols and TW Mode

The Twin X-Lite supports multiple RF protocols: ACCST D16, ACCESS, ELRS 2.4G (Compatible), and TW Mode. The TW Mode is an active-active dual 2.4G system, providing enhanced signal reliability and reduced latency. Select the appropriate protocol in the model settings to match your receiver.

4.2. Controls Overview

The transmitter features precision gimbals for primary control inputs. Six trims (four standard, two additional) allow for fine adjustments. Four quick-mode customizable buttons, two momentary buttons, two sliders, and four switches are strategically placed for easy access and customization within the ETHOS system. The momentary buttons are designed for increased durability and comfort.

4.3. Storage Management

The transmitter includes 1GB of built-in flash storage for models, sounds, and other system files. An external TF card slot is available for additional storage capacity, allowing for extensive model memory and media files.

4.4. Haptic and Voice Alerts

The Twin X-Lite provides haptic vibration alerts and voice speech outputs to inform the user of critical system statuses, telemetry data, and warnings. These features can be configured within the ETHOS operating system.

4.5. Wireless Training System

The High-Speed PARA Wireless Training System allows for wireless trainer/student functionality, enabling experienced pilots to teach new users without the need for a physical trainer cable.

4.6. ETHOS Operating System

5. Maintenance

5.1. Battery Care

Regularly charge the 2S Li-ion battery using the integrated Type-C charging port. Avoid over-discharging or over-charging the battery to prolong its lifespan. If storing the transmitter for extended periods, ensure the battery is charged to approximately 50% capacity.

5.2. Cleaning

Clean the transmitter's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, ensuring no moisture enters any openings. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

5.3. Storage

Store the Twin X-Lite in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Protect the gimbals and screen from physical impact. Consider using a protective case for transport and long-term storage.
