Setup and Installation

The eRapta ERT01 backup camera is designed for universal compatibility with 12-24V DC power systems and displays supporting CVBS signal input. Ensure your vehicle's display unit is compatible before proceeding.

1. Mounting the Camera

The camera comes with two bracket options for flexible installation:

  • License Plate Bracket: Mount the camera directly behind your vehicle's license plate. This provides a discreet and secure installation.
  • Small Bracket: Use this bracket for alternative mounting locations such as the car trunk, side, or mirror, depending on your vehicle's design and desired viewing angle.

2. Wiring Connections

  1. Power Connection: Connect the camera's power cable (red and black wires) to your vehicle's reversing light circuit. The red wire connects to the positive (+) terminal of the reversing light, and the black wire connects to a ground (-) point on the vehicle chassis. This ensures the camera powers on automatically when the vehicle is in reverse.
  2. Video Connection: Connect the yellow RCA connector of the camera's video cable to the video input (typically labeled "CAM IN" or "REVERSE IN") on your car radio, screen, or monitor. The 26ft AV cable provides ample length for most vehicle types.

Important Note: The eRapta ERT01 backup camera is compatible only with displays that support the CVBS signal type. Please confirm your vehicle's display compatibility before installation. Incompatible signal types may result in no image or a distorted image.

3. Adjusting the Camera Angle

The camera features an adjustable angle to optimize your rear view. After mounting, you can adjust the camera up or down by approximately 45 degrees (15 degrees upward, 30 degrees downward) to achieve the desired field of view.

Operating Instructions

1. Automatic Activation

Once properly installed and wired to the reversing light, the camera will automatically activate and display the rear view on your connected monitor when the vehicle is shifted into reverse gear.

2. Viewing Angle

The camera provides a 149-degree wide viewing angle, designed to minimize blind spots and enhance safety during reversing maneuvers.
