5. Operating Instructions
Once connected, the MOKiN hub allows seamless operation of all its integrated functions:
5.1 HDMI Display Connection
Connect an HDMI cable from your external display (monitor, TV, projector) to the HDMI port on the hub. Your device should automatically detect the display. You can configure display settings (mirror or extend) through your operating system's display settings.
5.2 USB Device Usage
Plug your USB 3.0 or USB-C data devices into the respective ports. Data transfer will begin automatically. Ensure external hard drives or high-power devices are connected one at a time to avoid power issues.
5.3 SD/TF Card Access
Insert your SD or Micro SD (TF) card into the corresponding slot. The card will appear as a removable drive on your computer, allowing you to access, transfer, and manage files.
5.4 Power Delivery (PD) Charging
Connect your laptop's original USB-C power adapter to the PD port on the hub. This will pass power through the hub to charge your laptop while you use other hub functions. The hub supports up to 100W input, with 87W output for charging.
6. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your MOKiN 7-in-1 USB C Hub, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Keep Clean: Regularly wipe the hub with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Handle with Care: Avoid dropping the hub or subjecting it to strong impacts.
- Proper Storage: When not in use, store the hub in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Disconnect Safely: Always safely eject connected devices (like external hard drives or SD cards) from your computer's operating system before unplugging them from the hub to prevent data corruption.
- Avoid Overloading: While the hub is designed for multiple connections, avoid connecting too many high-power devices simultaneously if not using the PD input, as this may affect performance or stability.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your MOKiN 7-in-1 USB C Hub, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| HDMI display not working or flickering. | Loose connection, incompatible resolution, or cable issue. | Ensure HDMI cable is securely connected. Try a different HDMI cable. Adjust display resolution on your computer. Restart your computer. |
| USB devices not recognized. | Insufficient power, faulty device, or loose connection. | Ensure the hub is properly connected to your host device. If connecting an HDD/SSD, ensure only one is connected or use the PD port for power. Try connecting the USB device directly to your computer to verify functionality. |
| SD/TF card not detected. | Card inserted incorrectly, damaged card, or file system issue. | Reinsert the card correctly. Try a different card. Check if the card is recognized on another device. |
| Laptop not charging via PD port. | Power adapter issue, cable issue, or hub not fully connected. | Ensure your original power adapter is connected to the hub's PD port. Verify the power adapter and USB-C cable are functional. Ensure the hub's main USB-C connector is firmly plugged into your laptop. |
| Hub feels warm during use. | Normal operation, especially under heavy load. | This is normal. The aluminum casing helps dissipate heat. If it becomes excessively hot, disconnect devices and allow it to cool. Ensure proper ventilation. |
