The ZTE Maven 2 is a versatile smartphone designed for everyday communication and entertainment. It features a 5-inch display, 8GB of internal storage, and 1GB of RAM, running on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).

Setup

1. Battery Installation

The ZTE Maven 2 comes with a Lithium Ion battery. Ensure the battery is properly seated before first use.

  1. Remove the back cover of the phone by gently prying it from the notch located on the side or bottom edge.
  2. Align the battery contacts with the terminals inside the battery compartment.
  3. Press the battery down firmly until it clicks into place.
  4. Replace the back cover, ensuring all edges are securely snapped.

2. SIM Card and MicroSD Card Installation

Your device uses a SIM card for cellular network access. A MicroSD card (sold separately) can be installed to expand storage up to 64GB.

  1. With the back cover removed, locate the SIM card slot and MicroSD card slot.
  2. Insert the SIM card into its designated slot with the gold contacts facing down and the notched corner aligned.
  3. If using a MicroSD card, insert it into the MicroSD card slot until it locks into place.
  4. Replace the back cover.

3. Initial Power On and Setup

After installing the battery and cards, you can power on your device for the first time.

  1. Press and hold the Power button (usually on the right side) until the screen lights up.
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the initial setup, including language selection, Wi-Fi connection, Google account setup, and security settings.
  3. Ensure the device is sufficiently charged before first use.

Operating Instructions

Basic Navigation

  • Touchscreen: The 5-inch display is a sensitive touchscreen. Tap to select, swipe to scroll, pinch to zoom.
  • Home Screen: Access your apps, widgets, and notifications.
  • Navigation Buttons: Use the on-screen or physical navigation buttons (Back, Home, Recent Apps) to move between screens and applications.

Making Calls and Messaging

  • Phone App: Tap the Phone icon to dial numbers or access your contacts.
  • Messaging App: Tap the Messaging icon to send and receive SMS/MMS messages.
  • The phone offers up to 10 hours of talk time on a full charge.

Camera Usage

Your ZTE Maven 2 is equipped with a 5.0MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front camera.

  • Taking Photos: Open the Camera app, frame your shot, and tap the shutter button.
  • Recording Videos: Switch to video mode within the Camera app and tap the record button.
  • Utilize the LED flash for low-light conditions.

Connectivity

  • Wi-Fi: Connect to wireless networks for internet access. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
  • Bluetooth: Pair with Bluetooth devices like headsets or car kits. Go to Settings > Bluetooth.
  • Cellular Data: Access 4G LTE network data through your AT&T SIM card. Manage data usage in Settings > Data usage.

Applications and Audio

  • App Management: Download new apps from the Google Play Store. Manage installed apps in Settings > Apps.
  • Audio: Experience enhanced sound with Dolby Audio premium. Connect headphones via the 3.5mm audio jack.

Maintenance

Charging the Battery

To ensure optimal battery life, use the charger provided with your device.

  • Connect the charger to the phone's charging port.
  • Plug the charger into a power outlet.
  • The battery indicator on the screen will show charging status.

Cleaning Your Device

Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the screen and body of your phone. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
