7. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to accurately apply torque using your Monzana Torque Wrench:

  1. Determine Required Torque: Consult your vehicle's service manual or component specifications for the correct torque value (in Nm or M-kg).
  2. Unlock Handle: Locate the locking screw/knob at the end of the handle. Rotate it counter-clockwise to unlock the adjustment mechanism.
  3. Set Torque Value:
    • Rotate the handle to align the desired main torque value on the main scale with the zero mark on the micrometer scale.
    • Then, rotate the handle further until the desired fine adjustment value on the micrometer scale aligns with the main scale line.
    • Example: To set 100 Nm, align '100' on the main scale with the micrometer's '0'.
  4. Lock Handle: Once the desired torque is set, rotate the locking screw/knob clockwise to secure the handle and prevent accidental changes.
  5. Select Ratchet Direction: Use the small lever on the wrench head to select the desired rotation direction (clockwise for tightening, counter-clockwise for loosening). Ensure it is set for tightening.
  6. Apply Torque: Place the socket onto the fastener. Apply smooth, steady pressure to the handle in the tightening direction. Do not jerk or use sudden movements.
  7. Listen for Click: Continue applying pressure until you hear and feel a distinct "click" from the wrench. This indicates that the preset torque value has been reached.
  8. Release Pressure: Immediately stop applying pressure once the click is heard. Do not continue to turn the wrench past the click.
  9. Repeat (if necessary): For multiple fasteners, repeat the process for each one.
