This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and effective use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your Vertigo Hornet Quad 4 Torch Flame Cigar Lighter. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the lighter and retain it for future reference.
The Vertigo Hornet lighter features a robust design with four powerful torch flames, designed for efficient cigar lighting. It includes a single-action ignition mechanism and a visible fuel window for convenience.
Important Safety Information
- Keep out of reach of children. This product is not a toy.
- Ignite lighter away from face and clothing.
- Do not puncture or incinerate lighter.
- Do not expose to heat above 120°F (49°C) or prolonged sunlight.

- Use only high-quality butane fuel. Low-quality fuel can clog the lighter and affect performance.

Setup
Initial Fueling
Your Vertigo Hornet lighter is shipped without fuel for safety reasons. It must be filled with butane before first use.
- Ensure the lighter is completely empty of any residual air or gas. You can do this by pressing a small screwdriver or pen tip into the refill valve on the bottom of the lighter until no hiss is heard.
- Invert the lighter and firmly press the nozzle of a high-quality butane fuel can into the refill valve.
- Hold for approximately 5-10 seconds. Repeat 2-3 times to ensure a full fill.
- Wait 2-3 minutes after fueling before attempting to ignite the lighter. This allows the butane to reach room temperature and stabilize.

Operating Instructions
- Open the Lid: Flip open the top lid of the lighter.
- Ignite: Press the ignition button (located on the side) firmly and quickly. The quad torch flames will ignite.
- Light Cigar: Position the cigar approximately 1-2 inches above the flame. Rotate the cigar to ensure an even light.
- Extinguish: Release the ignition button to extinguish the flames. Close the lid to protect the burner.

Refilling Instructions
When the fuel window indicates low fuel, or the flame becomes weak, it's time to refill.
- Use only premium butane fuel.
- Ensure the lighter is cool and extinguished.
- Invert the lighter.
- Purge any remaining air from the fuel tank by pressing the refill valve with a small tool until no hiss is heard. This is crucial for proper refilling.
- Press the butane can nozzle firmly into the refill valve for 5-10 seconds. Repeat 2-3 times.
- Allow the lighter to rest for 2-3 minutes before ignition.
Flame Adjustment
The flame height can be adjusted to suit your preference. The adjustment wheel is typically located on the bottom of the lighter, near the refill valve.
- Locate the flame adjustment wheel/screw on the bottom of the lighter.
- Use a small screwdriver or a similar tool to turn the wheel.
- Turn towards the "+" symbol for a higher flame.
- Turn towards the "-" symbol for a lower flame.
- Test the flame after each adjustment.
Note: Do not adjust the flame to an excessively high setting, as this can be dangerous and consume fuel rapidly. Avoid setting the flame too low, as it may not ignite reliably.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe the lighter with a soft, dry cloth to remove dirt and fingerprints. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Burner Maintenance: Keep the burner nozzles clear of debris. A small amount of compressed air can be used to clear blockages if necessary.
- Storage: Store the lighter in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure it is empty of fuel if storing for extended periods.
