2. Safety Information

Please read all safety warnings and instructions carefully before using this appliance. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.

  • This appliance is for indoor use only. Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not vacuum water or any wet substances. This vacuum cleaner is designed for dry vacuuming only.
  • Do not pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present.
  • Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
  • Always unplug the vacuum cleaner from the electrical outlet before cleaning or performing any maintenance.
  • Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
  • Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer's recommended attachments.
  • Do not use with a damaged cord or plug. If the appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to a service center.
  • Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.

3. Package Contents

Upon opening the package, please ensure all components are present and undamaged:

4. Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
  2. Assemble Hose: Insert the flexible hose into the suction inlet on the main unit until it clicks securely into place.
  3. Attach Telescopic Tube: Connect the telescopic tube to the handle end of the hose. Adjust the length of the telescopic tube by pressing the release button and extending or retracting it to a comfortable height.
  4. Connect Floor Nozzle: Attach your desired floor nozzle (DustMagnet Silent or ParkettoPro) to the end of the telescopic tube. Ensure it is firmly attached.
  5. Check Dust Container: Ensure the dust container is correctly installed and empty before first use.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On and Off

  1. Plug In: Extend the power cord and plug it into a suitable electrical outlet.
  2. Power On: The vacuum cleaner is equipped with a rotary dial for power control. Rotate the dial to turn the unit on and adjust the suction power.
  3. Power Off: Rotate the dial back to the 'Off' position. Unplug the power cord from the outlet and press the cord rewind button to retract the cord.

5.2 Using the Vacuum Cleaner

  • Floor Types:
    • For carpets and rugs, use the DustMagnet Silent nozzle.
    • For hard floors (wood, tile, laminate), use the ParkettoPro nozzle.
  • Suction Power: Adjust the suction power according to the surface and the amount of dirt. Higher power for heavily soiled areas or carpets, lower power for delicate surfaces or light dust.
  • Maneuverability: The compact and lightweight design allows for easy movement around furniture and obstacles.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your vacuum cleaner.

6.1 Emptying the Dust Container

  1. Disconnect Power: Always unplug the vacuum cleaner before emptying the dust container.
  2. Remove Container: Press the release button to detach the dust container from the main unit.
  3. Empty Contents: Position the dust container over a trash bin. Open the bottom flap to release the collected dust and debris.
  4. Reattach: Close the flap securely and reattach the dust container to the vacuum cleaner until it clicks into place.

6.2 Cleaning the Filters

The AEG LX7-2-FFP features an Allergy Plus filter that captures 99% of micro-particles. Regular cleaning of the filters is crucial for maintaining suction performance and air quality.

  1. Access Filters: Refer to your vacuum cleaner's specific design for filter access. Typically, filters are located within or near the dust container.
  2. Remove Filters: Carefully remove the pre-motor filter and the Allergy Plus exhaust filter.
  3. Wash Filters: Rinse the filters under cold running water until the water runs clear. Do not use detergents.
  4. Dry Filters: Allow the filters to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before reinserting them. Do not use a dryer or direct heat.
  5. Reinstall Filters: Once completely dry, reinsert the filters into their respective compartments.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your vacuum cleaner, refer to the table below for common problems and solutions.
