2. Setup and Installation

Mounting the Speakers

The Herdio speakers are designed for surface mounting. Choose a secure location on your boat, ATV, UTV, golf cart, or other vehicle that allows for optimal sound dispersion and secure attachment. Ensure the mounting surface is flat and strong enough to support the speakers.

• Positioning: Identify suitable mounting points. Consider the speaker dimensions (4.3"D x 4.3"W x 4.3"H) for proper fit.
• Drilling: Use the mounting brackets as a template to mark and drill pilot holes for the screws.
• Securing: Attach the speakers to the mounting surface using the provided screws and nuts, ensuring they are firmly secured.

Wiring Connections

The speakers connect to the independent digital Bluetooth amplifier box, which then requires a 12V DC power source. For home use, a 12V 3A power adapter (not included) is required to convert 110V AC to 12V DC.

• Speaker to Amplifier: Connect the speaker wires from both speakers to the corresponding speaker output terminals on the Bluetooth amplifier box (SPK L+, SPK L-, SPK R+, SPK R-). Ensure correct polarity.

Bluetooth Connectivity

• Power On: Ensure the amplifier box is connected to a 12V power source. The unit will automatically power on when connected.
• Pairing Mode: The amplifier box will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode. You may hear an audible prompt.
• Connect Device: On your smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled device, search for available Bluetooth devices. Select 'Herdio' or 'HMH-616BT' from the list.

Important Note: If an AUX cable is plugged into the amplifier box, the unit will prioritize the AUX input and will not be available for Bluetooth pairing. Disconnect the AUX cable to enable Bluetooth functionality.
